Not necessarily. There is not one hint of what specific crime this grand jury is actually investigating, which I find a bit odd. This could be about overdue rent on Levy's apartment as far as we know. Is the District of Columbia Superior Court considered federal, or a lower level? That would affect what crime they might be looking at.

quote:
Federal law enforcement officials have said they were examining whether Condit and his aides may have obstructed the search for Levy by asking other women who alleged affairs with the congressman not to cooperate with police.

Unfortunately, with the secrecy often surrounding grand juries, we may never get the benefit of more information from this either. Too bad. I'd really love to know more about this.

I've said it before: I just don't get that. I think, and have always thought, the guy looks like a skank. He's downright sleezy looking. Just look at the guy's eyes; snide, in my opinion. I just plain don't get women who go for that kind of look. Speaks highly of their tastes, doesn't it?
"Birds of a feather" I guess. (Sorry low-lives)
Oh! But when I heard this on the 'top of the hour' news, it did make my day. I was glad to hear that the subject had not been dropped.
Pay-up time, sleezeball!
(Just why was it he was selected for the Homeland Security yadayada? You'll have to remind me.

If he looks like a skank and a sleeze, then he's a shooin for the next DemonRAT president. Hillary can run as the second sleeze in charge, and they'll be no shortage of sleezes to fill the cabinet. After that, we'd have to burn the White House.

I think he's ugly. Bad teeth and pasty skin. Shifty eyes. Narrow shoulders. Somebody needs to take that blow-dryer away from, too.
And the knife.
And the shovel.

As politicians go I wouldn't say he is ugly but he doesn't really do anything for me either. But if you have seen the political men from my State he would win hands down. I don't think we have had even a slightly attractive man EVER run for anything in my State!

Well, it remains to be seen, but I figure if clinton can blame 9/11 on things that happened 135+ years ago, I can dream about condit being arrested.
Fantasies about Washington D.C. have no limits. It's kind of a Never-Never Land.

Rep. Condit Served with Grand Jury Subpoena

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Rep. Gary Condit, a California Democrat snared in a real-life drama stemming from the disappearance of intern Chandra Levy, disclosed on Thursday that his office has been served with a grand jury subpoena.
In a letter to House of Representative Speaker Dennis Hastert, an Illinois Republican, Condit wrote that the "subpoena for documents" was issued by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
District of Columbia police have headed the investigation into the disappearance last April of 24-year-old Levy. Condit has admitted to police to having an affair with Levy.
Condit intends to seek a seventh two-year term in Congress next year, aides have said.
The married congressman initially denied an intimate relationship with Levy, but admitted to police in mid-July that he had an affair with the ex-intern. The police have stressed 53-year-old Condit is not a suspect in Levy's disappearance.
Last summer, before the Sept. 11 attacks took the national spotlight, Condit was fighting for his political life. His hometown's major newspaper, the Modesto Bee, for instance, called on him to resign over his conduct following Levy's disappearance.
In an editorial, the Bee accused the congressman of actively hindering police efforts to find Levy.
Another paper in the area, The Fresno Bee, also had urged Condit to resign, saying he had abused his office.
The congressman's letter to Hastert notifying the speaker of the subpoena was dated Nov. 14, and released on Thursday.

Well it appears that he's has a lock on his reelection now that he's been served. Demonrat, in trouble, having an affair, - sounds just like Bubba. Must be one of the qualifications.
