You scored 100% Complimentary Style
Remember, the complimentary style refers to a real division of labor and responsibility. For some couples, this is self-evident. It is obvious to them who works and who manages the home; who cooks and who pays the bills. On the one hand, this style of relationship has the advantage of being comfortable and predictable -- each person knows their role and their job within the relationship. On the other hand, this style has the disadvantage of being, well, predictable. Sometimes the roles may be so clearly separated that the partners grow to feel trapped in their respective roles and unable to ask the other for input or assistance.

"Complimentary" or "complementary"?

You scored 60% Symmetrical Style

Remember, the symmetrical style of relationship refers to a kind of equal partnership in which each partner is available to do any or all of the tasks of maintaining everyday life. The symmetrical style has the advantage of keeping life interesting -- you never know in advance who is going to do what. Each situation is a new opportunity. This style has the disadvantage of making life unpredictable -- every new challenge can involve a decision or debate about who is going to take the initiative.

Hmmm, I wonder what the test's marriage and family counselors would have to say about that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tinhat.gif

After 23 years I don't need no stinkin' counselor to tell me we're exact opposites. Imagine 2 of one kind of us in the same house......yikes!

For any interested:

"Complimentary" means something like "saying nice things about you." It also means "free," as in a complimentary breakfast.

"Complementary" means something like "goes well together with something else." It comes from math, where a complementary angle goes with another angle to equal 90 degrees.

I don't have a woman in my life. I answered the questions based on the situation I'd like to exist when I'm married. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif 60% complementary 40% symmetrical

I went back to the original site.
They use "complementary" on the opening page and "complimentary" at the end of the quiz. Now I don't know if I want to say something nice about my wife or we go well together.

Ok like Thomas, I 'm not married so I, too, based my answers on my ideal married situation.

It basically told me to shut up and read Dr. Laura's "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands."

No surprises here. We've been married for 15 years and have known each other for 21 years. I think we have things pretty well figured out.
