David Bonier (D-IL), resigned his house seat in order to answer his party's call for a liberal challenge to the widely hated Republican Governer, Ryan. The dem's pumped ton's o Kampain Kash into his run. Well, Tuesday Bonier (a director for the Democratic Socialists of America) was defeated by the IL attorney general, Marsha in the democratic primary. You'll remember Bonier as the official "pit-bull" of the DNC assigned to the political assassination of Newt Gingrich. BU-BYE!

Sorry! I fell pray to a hoax post in another forum. I can't believe it. This is not my day! Of course, Bonior is a congressman from MI not IL. And the thread poster in the other forum got a knee-jerk reaction from me and poked fun at my stupidity. I feel so dumb!

Interestingly, some polls just prior to the election had Bonior and Granholm as "neck n neck" and one had Bonior leading. Polls suck.

Bonior loss clouds labor's clout in Democratic Party
Unions say they'll back Granholm in November
By Charlie Cain and Mark Hornbeck / Detroit News Lansing Bureau
Bonior had organized labor on his side, but lost to Granholm. One political analyst says the unions shouldn't have split in the Democratic primary with three big-name candidates on the ballot.
DETROIT -- Congressman David Bonior's resounding loss in the primary election is the third straight time the muscle of Michigan's organized labor has bet on a gubernatorial candidate and lost.
Tuesday's setback raises anew questions about how much clout Big Labor's two biggest players have in Michigan Democratic politics.
"When is the UAW going to learn its lesson not to dictate to its members?" asked Rich Leebove, spokesman for the Michigan Teamsters. The Teamsters pushed their members to vote for Attorney General Jennifer Granholm, the winner of Tuesday's Democratic primary.
