Unk, I've never cooked a brisket on the grill. I imagine you could punch in 'grilled brisket' in google and come up with something. I'm curious to know how it comes out. Good luck!

Unk two way to cook briaket.

1. In a smoker

2. In an oven

I have a recipe for a dry rub in this forum you use the day before for the brisket. Direction are on the brisket.

The oven method is the easiest way.

Disposable baking pan large

Preheat the oven to 250 deg.

Put the brisket in the pan, cover with foil

Cook about 4-6 hours depending on the size of the brisket.

My BBQ sauce recipe is also in this forum.

The Great Brisket Trial round two is gonna be this weekend. Yes, to answer the unasked question I did go and buy some propane.

The crock pot usually does well for me with a brisket. I fix mine with potatos and baby on it.

The Brisket turned out great. So tender you could cut it with a fork and a superb taste to it. I did have to make a couple of minor modefications to the recipe.

Here are the modifications

1) 1 Cup of Kraft Original BBQ Sause replaced the cup of Ketchup. For reasons I doubt I have to explain I threw away all of our ketchups a few weeks back.

1) 2 Tablespoons of Hot Pepper Sause instead of one Teaspoon. We are Texicans we like it hot.

Buy more Unk, the Heinz company is donating to Bush's campaign.

We're doing four briskets today. Customers in town. Bought a real nice professional pit, too.... which will be useful for years.

Glad to hear it worked out for ya, Unk! I'm gonna make it real soon.

You can make your own ketchup (which I have a recipe for) with very little trouble or order W ketchup. Let me know if ya want me to post the ketchup recipe.

My Sweet Blonde normally does make some ketchup when the maters come in. Unfortnately, this year the majority of our garden got washed out during Texas' unscheduled Monsoon season. The only thing to survive in our garden was the squash amd onions. This will be the first year in almost a decade that she wont be putting up Salsa, Nacho Peppers, Tomatoes, Pickles and black eyed peas. It upset her so much she refuses to even put up any jelly this year -- which means heaven forbid I have to eat store bought jelly this year.

You're a lucky man, Unk! Tell your sweet blonde that I'd love to trade some recipes wih her. I love food with a flare! You could post them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon2.gif

Sorry to hear about your garden. That really sucks! But, you do have the onion and squash! I didn't plant much this year, just a few mater plants. I figure I'll get the ground ready for some strawberries next spring.

Good luck with that jelly. Pollaner is a good brand. But, don't call it jelly! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

I'd love to have a good recipe for brisket cooked in the oven. I wish I could do it the way they do in the pits for like 8,000 hours, but I just don't have a pit like that. :-p

I'll have to search around this forum a bit more. I'd like to find a good tomato/ketchup based barbecue sauce recipe as well. *searches*
