McCain Jumping GOP Ship?
Perhaps it's not Hillary Clinton who will woo Arizona Senator John McCain away from the Republican Party after all.
To set the stage: According to the New York Post's Page Six, McCain's chief political adviser, John Weaver, has become a Democrat and is now working for Dick Gephardt. McCain's new legislative director, Christine Dodd, last worked for a Democrat.
Now, Page Six hears that Senator Kerry, who will be running for Prez in 2004, is scheduled to meet with McCain at his retreat in Sedona, Ariz., next month.
Recently, Kerry wrote, in an intro for the new McCain biography: "I have had no greater privilege in all my life than finding and then standing on common ground with John McCain, and I look forward to fighting side by side with him on yet another day to make our country stronger."
