Where's the best place to buy more memory? From Dell? They have a 256 MB for $90, Kingston Tech has 128 MB for $86. Ebay a 128MB for $20 right now.

Dell looks to be the best buy unless there's something better. Any help appreciated.

Check the local sales first, then try some of the on line places like Egghead, Allstarshop or zipzoomfly. I have purchased pc parts from all three with no problems.

I buy mine direct from Cucial.

http://www.crucial.com/store/listmodel.asp?cat=RAM&mfr=Dell&productline=OptiPle x

Go to this page, scroll down the model numbers list to find yours, and select it. You'll then be told what your machine has from the factory, what it can hold, and the kind that it requires. You can then either buy it direct from them, or use the data to search for it on the Web. And, this will avoid spending more than is necessary for RAM by buying a higher specification than is required, or wasting money for RAM that won't work.

Any further questions are welcome.

Ya got two that can be server-wise, the dual proc p3 socket 370's at 1.13 ghz, and the Dual proc p3 slot1 at 800 mhz each. one has a comp case, the other not yet.

Update--solved my memory problem. My son-in-law's company bought new 'puters and put their old ones up for bid. I bid $25 on a Dell and got it. It turned out to be the same model as mine. When I checked it out it was a P-III, 667 Mhz with 512 of RAM plus two HDDs, one which was 110 GB. So I swapped my 128 memory for the 512, and my 'puter guy took the 110GB in trade for some work for me. Since I had a spare monitor, I now have a complete system for sale. What's it worth? I advertised it for $250 but only one bite and she never showed. Guess I'll have to lower my price. Oh, well, I could give it to a local Christian school and take a $500 deduction. Hey, ol' Slicker claimed a $7 deduction for some used underwear. Of course it may have had some of Monica's Virgin Oil on it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
