We have had a very favorable response over our alert as found at:
www.goa-texas.org/cgi-bin....pl?PN=126 (http://www.goa-texas.org/cgi-bin....pl?PN=126)
We addressed the issue of Vermont State Rep. Fred Maslack's recently
proposed bill, to "register" non-gunowners and require them to pay a
$500 fee to the state, if they do not own a firearm.
As Gun Owners Alliance stated, if there is a list being created by a
governmental agency, of folks that do not own guns, then it is reasonable
to assume that those NOT on the "list" actually own guns. Guess what?
Real gunowners are then KNOWN by Big Brother!!
Bingo! Gun registration at its best!! And done with the approval of
the pro-gun community (if pro-gunners buy this). Don't you see now,
that registering non-gunowners is the SAME THING as registering and
licensing gunowners?
And we all know that registration leads to gun confiscation. Sometimes
it leads to Genocide. Go to:
www.goa-texas.org/kopel.htm (http://www.goa-texas.org/kopel.htm)

We also had an interesting commentary from one of our loyal subscribers. We
offer his comments directly below, where the ">" marks appear. We then, reply
to his comments after his message:

Hello GOA-Texas subscriber!
Your comments have merit, but there is something you should consider:
Ever hear the expression, "Play with fire, and you will get burned" ?
Gun registration, is NEVER a good satire, nor should it ever be assumed
that this bill will NEVER pass. Screwier bills that seemed to have NO
chance of passage, have passed with wider margins of approval than
ANYONE ever dreamed. Too risky to use as a "satire." What would we do
if it DID pass?? Tell them, "OOPS! JUST KIDDING!!" Naw, don't think you
want that!
As you know, too many have paid with the price of blood, because their
guns (life preservers) were confiscated due to gun registration, and
they in turn were murdered by a genocidal and criminal government.
ANY AND ALL registration schemes are DEAD WRONG, and should NEVER be
used for any educational purpose, to get across ANY message. To do
otherwise, is to dishonor entire cultures of people who died at the
hands of governments that used registration to disarm their victims.
To say this bill should go forth for educational purposes, is "almost"
like saying that a genocide should proceed, so we can learn a thing or
two from it. But I know you did not intend for your idea to come across
in this manner.
Perhaps we can just "dream" what it would be like to offer such a bill.
Seems our dreams would be a safer approach, don't you figure? How about
someone writing a fictional story about this instead? Might be a good
sequel to "Unintended Consequences."
"Play with fire, and you WILL get burned." GUARANTEED, my friend.

The state of Vermont has the greatest laws, for the gunowner. I pray their
legislature does not screw up such a shining 2nd amendment example with this
"Trojan" registration scheme. Go to www.goa-texas.org/ccw_verm.htm (http://www.goa-texas.org/ccw_verm.htm)
and also to www.goa-texas.org/hupp-7.htm (http://www.goa-texas.org/hupp-7.htm) for an education on Vermont
gun laws.
Thanks for sharing your views with us.
