Could it be that they know that as they get close to putting the finishing touches on their islamo-nuke, that the evil zionists will bomb the shit outta 'em like they did Iraq??? The mullahs sound kinda touchy, lately. Nervous perhaps.

By Paul Hughes

TEHRAN (Reuters) - A senior Iranian military official said Sunday Israel and the United States would not dare attack Iran since it could strike back anywhere in Israel with its latest missiles, news agencies reported.

They may want to think twice before they piss off Israel. It would be a shame to wait thousands of years before anyone could use the oil in the place Iran use to occupy.

It is thought that much of Iran's nuclear program is in secret underground bunkers. They learned the lesson from when Israel put Saddam out of the nuke biz in 1980, and hid their facilities.

It would be a shame if the country were nuked. The people are again turning pro-American after experiencing the dictatorship of the mullahs. But, neither we nor Israel can afford to wait until they have a deliverable atomic warhead . . .

[liberal nut job tone] People People People, come on, get ahold of yourselves. We can't have another vietnam/iraq on our hands. It is wrong for us to get into the business of other countries like that, unless of coars it is giving money to fight aids. Let these country's take care of their own issues and peace will prevail. Besides there is no proof that Iran has these WMD's. If we have learned anything from Iraq, it is to not rely on intelligence reports and to wait until said country uses their weapons, that is the only way we can be sure that they have them and we are not making a mistake. Not quoting you at all. I was being sarcastic to liberals. I think what has happened is I have spent too much time lurking and posting at a liberal board to hear their side of stuff and what I posted would be probably a response from a liberal.

Get Together

Love is but a song we sing
And fear's the way we die.
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry.
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why.

C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try to love one another right now

Some will come and some will go
And we shall surely pass.
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last.
We are but a moment's sunlight
Fading in the grass.

C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try to love one another right now

If you hear the song we sing
You will understand.
You hold the key to love and fear
In your trembling hand.
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command

C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try to love one another right now

Typical saccharine hippie psychobabble.

Here's an interesting thought to bring this back on topic...

Would Israel strike first at Iran?

Israel holds the preemptive wildcard, but experts doubt Osirak-style repeat.

By Joshua Mitnick | Contributor to The Christian Science Monitor

TEL AVIV – Moments before dispatching Israeli pilots to bomb Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor in June, 1981, army Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan is said to have depicted the importance of the mission in stark terms: "The alternative is our destruction.''
In ordering the lightning knockout, Israel served notice to its Middle Eastern foes that the Jewish state would act - even preemptively - to deprive them of a nuclear option.

No doubt it would be tougher, perhaps impossible, to take out all of Iran's facilities.

However, you can bet we have a pretty good idea of where most of them are, and it is doubtful the Iranians were able to construct bunkers big enough, strong enough, and deep enough to withstand bombardment with modern weapons. Certainly we have the technology, even if Israel doesn't.

It is a race against time here. If we can stabilize Iraq quickly enough, we have a huge force over there that can be quickly trained upon Iran. Their military is less technologically advanced than Saddam's was, even after 12 years of sanctions.

The ideal situation would be an uprising against the mullahs from within. That will certainly happen, sooner or later, but we dare not pin all hope on it happening in time.

I think this is a set up because they are worried we might come after Iran next. If the Arab world thinks it's because of Israel, Iran will have the support of all of the Arab countries to fight against us.

I think that if Israel was convinced that Iran's nukes threatened its very existence, Israel would find a way to destroy those nukes before they could be used.

Yea nuke the middle east and kill 10's millions of innocent lives. Sounds like some in here enjoy that image too.

Ya know... people who go around making threats usually get it dished back. Iran spouted off first, so since Iran made the threat to start with why don't you go find some Iranian BB and complain.

Triller

The Iranian people or the Iranian government?

I suppose that if you have to kill a few million people to "Get The Job Done TM" its okay. But why stop at nukes? Perhaps we could drop chemical weapons or a weaponised strain of ebola onto their cities while we are at it.

If the Iranian people don't like what their government is doing, they must take the power to change it.

The Iranian people, as good muslims, raised in the cradle of jew-hate, no doubt support any and all ideas which end in the destruction of Israel. The only logical question is: What innocent people?

Iran has expanded their threat. The threat is that any attack on their reactor will result in missiles launched from elsewhere against the Jewish state. Israel will have no choice but to obliterate Iran with a little less than a carpet bomb of nuclear weapons. It's not a matter of if but when and how long Israel will permit Iran to exist.

I don't know... no love lost between Arabs and Persians... or between Sunni and Shia... The real question is how closely allied is Iran with Russia.

I doubt any arab leaders will want to help Iran if it is attacked. They don't care about each other that much. They would probably condemn an attack simply because the US was involved but that would be it. They would only care if it was their ass at risk. The general population in the middle east are the people who are more likely to have a problem with it, but their leaders don't reflect their views too well. That is why I don't get this apparent master plan to spring democracies up all over the middle east.
