| Del All GUNS in AMERICA - the DATA
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For every child killed with a gun, four are wounded. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the rate of firearm death of children 0-14 years old is nearly twelve times higher in the U.S. than in 25 other industrialized nations combined.
Over 6,000 students were expelled in 1996-97 for bringing guns to school. The Journal of the American Medical Association reports that between 36% and 50% of male eleventh graders believe they could easily get a gun if they wanted one.
Guns do kill people, especially when wielded by children. More than 800 Americans, young and old, die each year from guns shot by children under the age of 19.
In 1996, more than 1300 children aged 10-19 committed suicide with firearms. Unlike suicide attempts using other methods, suicide attempts with gun are nearly always fatal, meaning a temporarily depressed teenager will never get a second chance at life. Two-thirds of all completed teenage suicides involve a firearm.
The firearm injury epidemic, due largely to handgun injuries, is ten times larger than the polio epidemic of the first half of this century.

*yawn*
And here's the proof positive. Guess what? Of those 900 shot by children over 800 are shot by ADULTS age 18 and 19. AND of those 900 most are 18 AND 19 YEAR OLD ADULTS! And in most instance gangs and drugs are at the center of it. AND in most cases it is black on black inner city crime. Thanks for so clearly demonstrating the bias for us.
Also, of those 14 and under most fall into the 13 and 14 age bracket and AGAIN it is gang/drug related. DOJ facts just annoy you people all to hell, don't they? Quit posting bias filth and go do the research where it matters you mindless pawn of the Totalitarian Agenda.
Suicide, for your information, is considered an unpreventable crime AND nations like Japan and several European Socialist states have complete bans...and FAR higher suicide rates. As long as that is the fact of the matter your statistic carries zero weight in this discussion. Try again.
As far as the number of deaths, you ahve to include police shootings, defensive civilian shootings, and ALL shootings of criminals by criminals to get your silly statistics. Also, this transparent attempt by the Big Government Totalitarians at CDC to twist a question of social mores into one of guns and then call it a DISEASE is so absurd it does nothing but further damage the already miniscule and eroded credibility of the Anti-Gun Extremists and their mindless lap dogs, such as yourself, Yuk.
Now, try and write something relevant in your own words, Yuk, and give up the Cut&Paste. It doesn't help your already pathetic argument a bit.
"The fact is that the average man's love of liberty is nine-tenths imaginary, exactly like his love of sense, justice and truth. He is not actually happy when free; he is uncomfortable, a bit alarmed, and intolerably lonely. Liberty is not a thing for the great masses of men. It is the exclusive possession of a small and disreputable minority, like knowledge, courage and honor. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty - and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies."

Cause and effect? We ban children from even taking toy guns to school and they cannot keep their hands off of them. Exactly like alcohol. We didn't have a teen drinking problem before we enacted minimum drinking age. There were a few kids that over-imbibed but this was the exception, not the norm. Now we have most highschool aged children experimenting with it.
Same with smoking.

Ignore him Keith. He has no interest in facts. That CDC data was exposed as a fraud years ago. The only reason they produced it was to support Clinton's political agenda. The world of researchers won't touch it caused it's so biased and flawed.

Can you even read Yuckie? He already said that. He also said the incidence of it continues to rise, even though bans are put in place. You are supporting his argument that they will do it anywway, no matter what restrictions are in place. Once again, you are arguing against gun control. You should read posts a little more closely before you respond to them.

So, Yuke, you're proposing we ban premarita sex? It would have the same effect as banning booze, cigs and guns.
