:duh: Okay, I think I might have another virus. No clue where it came from, or how to get rid of it. Or maybe, it's my ISP, which was down earliër. Anyway, after beïng online for a few minutes, everything freezes, & I get this message across the top of the screen that the web page I'm viewing is not responding. After cancelling the program, I end up logging back on, without even using my password. Any ideäs?

Could be several things. To start with:
1) Is this happening on all pages you try to view, or just one?
2) Have you cleaned out your browser cache recently?
3) What AV are you using and are you keeping it up to date
4) Do you have any spyware removal tools?

 1. Okay, ya know how, when you hit a link, sometimes it turns the page, but other times it opens up a new browser? The ones that open a new browser lock up the internet.
2. No, but a friend is coming over to show me how.
3. EZTrust, the one you recommended several months ago.
4. My friend is going to help me with that. He'll be able to shed some more light on this, but what he told me earliër sounds similar to what you're suggesting. Let's hope he can help me fix this.

 I guess I wasted $20 on McAfee®. This problem persists. I think it's an adware virus, but nothing seems to work to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Re the browser cache, if IE is open, click on Tools > Internet options.

In the "Temporary Internet Files" section, click on "Delete Files..." to purge the browser cache. The "Delete Cookies" button will clear those out if desired, although it will require logging manually into sites such as FC. BFD. Each cookie occupies a full cluster, and depending on the partition size, they can eat up a lot of drive space if there is a schitteload of them.
Check your other thread for restore info.

After you delete the cookies and the files, reboot.
Also, download SpySweeper (http://www.download.com/Webroot-Spy-Sweeper/3000-8022-10301356.html), SpyBot (http://www.download.com/3000-8022-10122137.html), and Ad-Aware (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022-10319876.html?tag=lst-0-4).

Nah, he's just an asshole teenager who thinks he's an adult because he has peachfuzz around his willy. It's not working. He was made about five posts after he regged.

I have the same problem with my computer. It started when I downloaded something I had checked to see if it was safe and it claimed it was safe.
