WASHINGTON - A federal judge has ordered the Pentagon (news (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news?fr=news-storylinks&p=%22Pentagon%22&c=&n=20&yn=c&c=news&cs=nw) - web sites (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=web-storylinks&p=Pentagon)) to find and make public by next week any unreleased files about President Bush (news (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news?fr=news-storylinks&p=%22President%20Bush%22&c=&n=20&yn=c&c=news&cs=nw) - web sites (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=web-storylinks&p=President%20Bush))'s Vietnam-era Air National Guard service to resolve a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by The Associated Press.

U.S. District Judge Harold Baer Jr. handed down the order late Wednesday in New York. The AP lawsuit already has led to the disclosure of previously unreleased flight logs from Bush's days piloting F-102A fighters and other jets.

Pentagon officials told Baer they plan to have their search complete by Monday. Baer ordered the Pentagon to hand over the records to the AP by Sept. 24 and provide a written statement by Sept. 29 detailing the search for more records.

"We're hopeful the Department of Defense (news (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news?fr=news-storylinks&p=%22Department%20of%20Defense%22&c=&n=20&yn=c&c=news&cs=nw) - web sites (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=web-storylinks&p=Department%20of%20Defense)) will provide a full accounting of the steps it has taken, as the judge ordered, so the public can have some assurance that there are no documents being withheld," said AP lawyer David Schulz.

White House officials have said Bush ordered the Pentagon earlier this year to conduct a thorough search for the president's records, and officials allowed reporters to review everything that was gathered back in February.

Through a series of requests under the federal open records law and a subsequent suit, the AP uncovered the flight logs, which were not part of the records the White House released earlier this year. Dig for Bush's mil records but refuse to go release the entirety of kerrys Mil records??

How nice, gotta love the democratic witch-hunt from the activist Judges.

The basic difference is that Bush signed the DD180 authorizing the complete disclousure of his records, Kerry has not. The problem is not with this Judge (although I suspect he is politically motivated) it is instead with Kerry Refusal to sign the DD180 authorizing disclousure of his records.

What will happen if there are no more records to be released?

Unk, I believe it is called the SF180 form. (Standard Form, I think)

The RATs are going to push this one issue because it's all they have, ignoring that Horseface brought thirty-year-old military issues to the fore by making them a core campaign issue.

Their desperation is palpable. They have a candidate with no qualifications whatsoever for the office, no record of leadership in the Senate, a voting record to the left of Shamu Kennedunk's, and a sordid history of pro-communist, anti-military activism. Were I a RAT, I'd be feeling lower than whale shit in the Marianis Trench right now.

You are probably right, I was just working from my rather faulty memory.

This has been SOP with the Rats since XXX-42 was elected. They couldn't defend him on his own merits, so their only option was to attempt to make everyone else seem worse than him. It worked, so they're continuing to do it. This time, however, they're up against a man of impeccable honor, integrity, virtue, and decency. They're flinging shit at a teflon ceiling, and it's dropping back down on them.

I think sKerry's campaign pushing this is going to sink him. Bush is leading by 14 points among likely voters. That's huge folks. I wouldn't worry about this. There isn't anything for them to dig up. That judge is telling them to go look some more. Maybe they can forge more docs. I am laughing my ass off. Dan Blather played right into this too and the forged fake memogate is killing sKerry along with C-BS and Blather. In all my lifetime I don't believe I've ever seen the left so desperate. Bush really does scare the hell out of them and he has not once given them any reason to. I think it's because he's a man of faith and they are demonic.

No problem, Unk. If I make an error with anything like that, please correct me.

I'm not so sure Bush signed the SF180 but he has released all of his records or ordered them released. Something Kerry has failed to do. The question is what is Kerry hiding. Not what is Bush hiding. Bush didn't make his military service the cornerstone of his campaign. Kerry did. Now it's time to own up. Wasn't it he who said "Bring it on" and then whined when the Swiftboat vets did just that? The Democrats are acting like kindergarten school kids with this you hit us so we're going to hit you. Bush had nothing to do with the Swiftboat vets. He even stated that Kerry served honorably which I totally disagree with. Kerry has spent more time talking about Vietnam than he spent there. Americans, or the majority of them could care less about Bush's guard service. They have 4 years of him as Commander in Chief to judge him by. I hope they judge Kerry by his Senate record and what he did to our troops when he came back from Vietnam.
