I'll take a stab at some of these questions. (I like Trek but fear I'm too much of a light weight to get a passing grade on your test.)

1. Spock

2. ? (I don't know)

3. D (the Borg homeworld)

4. ? ( I can't remember)

5. Odo

6. B (Mogh)

7. Q

8. ? (I don't know, but would love to find out.)

9. Commander Shran (I cheated. Imdb.com)

10. Here is a review from: http://216.239.41.104/search?q=cache:lccqIDtajCIJ:www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/GuidePageServlet/showid-2498/epid-274641/+Similitude+enterprise+%22star+trek%22&hl=en

Something goes wrong during an attempt to improve the warp engines, causing Trip to be severely injured and leaving Enterprise crippled in a dangerous polaric field. Archer allows Phlox to create a simbiot of Trip, which will only live for fifteen days and provide neural tissue needed for a vital transplant. The simbiot is named Sim and, aging years in a matter of days, actually thinks of a plan to free Enterprise from the field. However, a difficult decision must be made after it's learned Sim will be prematurely killed by the transplant, even though there is a chance to exceed his lifespan.
I cheated on the two Enterprise episides. I've only seen a handful of the episodes and am basically unfamiliar with the entire storyline(s). I'm a big fan of TNG. It is bugging me that I don't know the answer to question # 4. I'm going to think on that and may get back to you on that. I'll consult my DVD's at home.

All I remember about Star Trek were the Tribbles. Of course since I knew a go-go dancer named Tribble that was easy.

1. Who was the only character to cross over from the original pilot, "The Cage," to the regular series?

Mr. Spock.

2. With what game did Kirk distract his captors in "A Piece of the Action"?

The name of the game is called, uh ...fizzbin.
Fizzbin?
Fizzbin. It's, uh ... not too difficult.
Each player gets six cards, except for the player on the dealer's right, who gets seven.
On the right?
The second card is turned up, except on Tuesdays.
On Tuesday.
[Kirk] Mm-hmm.
Oh, look what you got, two jacks.
You got a half fizzbin already.
I need another jack.
No. If you got another jack, why, you'd have a sralk.
A sralk?
Yes. You'd be disqualified.
You need a king and a deuce, except at night, when you'd need a queen and a 4.
Except at night.
Right.
Oh, look at that.
You've got another jack!
Ha ha ha!
How lucky you are! How wonderful for you.
If you didn't get another jack, if you'd gotten a king, why, then, you'd get another card, except when it's dark, you'd give it back.
If it were dark on Tuesday.
But what you're after is a royal fizzbin, but the odds in getting a royal fizzbin are astron -- Spock, what are the odds in getting a royal fizzbin?
I've never computed them.
Well, they're astronomical, believe me.
Now, for the last card. We'll call it a kronk.
You got that?
What?
Oh, I'll get it

Re the rest of them, I've never seen any of the series.

To fill in the blanks -

4. To his cat Spot.

7. Q

8. It was Nelix and Tuvok that were combined. He/They were named Tulix.

9. Actually this is a misleading question since he has played more than 3 characters on the various ST shows.

On DS9, he played Tiron (episode: "Meridian"), Mulcahey (episode "Far beyond the Stars"),the Ferengi Liquidator Brunt, and Weyoun. On Enterprise, he played the Andorian Commander Shran, and another character Krem (episode "Acquisitions"). On Voyager, he played Penk.

So to date he has appeared as seven different characters, a record for any actor.

That was great! Y'all up for some more?<!-- / message -->
I am! That was fun.

Are you sure about question # ?

6. When she got married, Jadzia became a member of the House of .
Worf . .
a) Worf b) Mogh c) Martok d) Kang e) Kahless
c) Martok

I thought Worf was the son of Mogh. When did he become part of the Martok House?

oracle
10-09-2004, 07:46 PM
It is correct. While Worf was born into the House of Mogh, that House was expelled/dissolved/dishonored because of Duras' false claim that Worf's father helped the Romulians attack the colony at Khitomer. During the Dominion War, Worf saved Martok's life, and in graditude, Martok adopts him into his House.

HomeschoolrsRUs
10-09-2004, 09:17 PM
That one almost stumped me too. I knew it wasn't Worf or Mogh because of the dishonor at Khitomer, but I wasn't convinced it was Martok because I had remembered when Kahless showed up in one of the episodes. But, of course, Oracle was right!

So the next question is, do you want me to do a general Trek Triva quiz, or would you rather have a category (Original, STNG, DS9, etc.; or only on the Captains, or on the species, etc.?) Tell me what your preferences would be, and I'll pull them out of the book! Below are the different headings ...

A) Star Trek's The Orinigal Series
B) Star Trek: The Next Generation
C) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
D) Star Trek: Voyager
E) Star Trek: The Films
F) New LIfe and New Civilizations
G) Starfleet
H) Personnel Files
I) Abstract Knowledge

All listings above have a miscellaneous section too for general trivia. Okay, time to vote! (We Freecer's LOVE to vote, so vote early and vote often, LOL). I will post the trivia Quiz on Monday.

Hey, at least I got some of them! :smirky:

Do you have a trivia book or something? At the time I posted this, I had checked out a ST trivia book from the library. I LOVE StarTrek (for many reasons, most of which involve beloved memories of my late father and I watching the series together). I don't retain a lot if info, but some things stick in there for some reason.

If you have any more, feel free to post them!

Here I sit, patiently awaiting the creation of one more series/special/movie!

1) TOS: What was the name of the rock-burrowing creature in the episode "Devil in the Dark"?

The Horta ... and wasn't it burrowing to lay eggs for it's offspring or something like that?

2) TNG: Name the speaker (ep: "The High Ground")... "I'm willing to die for my cause. And, in the tradition of your own George Washington, I'm will to kill for it too."

Was it another Q? (Probably not, I bet I'm confusing this episode with the one where the Q wants to commit suicide and there is a civil war amongst the Q -- BTW, if I cannot be Jadzia, can I please be Q?) No, that's not right, the Q Civil War was on Voyager ... okay, I give up.

3) ENTERPRISE: What species launched a probed that killed six million people on Earth?

Ooh, almost got me on this one ... I was going to say the Crystalline Entity ... then I saw you wrote ENTERPRISE, and NOT ST:TNG. Could it be the Zindi?

4) DS9: What was the title bestowed upon the supreme religious leader of Bajor?

Kai

5) VOYAGER: What was Tom Paris' occupation prior to joining Voyager's crew?

Criminal ... wasn't he in jail/prison/lock-up?

6) TOS: What was name of the character played by Robert Lansing in "Assignment: Earth"?

Wasn't he the Secret Agent Guy? I don't remember his name ... I think his secretary was played by Terri Garr, if my memory is correct. And I remember something about a black cat too.

7) TNG: Who designed the Enterprise-D's dilithium warp chamber (hint: Geordi had the hots for her)?

Dr. Leah Brahms

8) DS9: Who was the leader of the Ferengi empire?

Grand Nagus Zek

12) DS9: To what drug were the Jem' Hadar addicted?

Ketracel White

13) DS9: What activity was Worf performing when he yelled: "Death to the opposition!"?

Either the Holodek, take over of DS9 by the Cardassians, or battle against the Dominion (hedging my bets, and I probably lost out all together, LOL). Wasn't his wedding to Jadzia, was it??? :smirky:

14) TOS: In the episode "The Changeling," who did Nomad say his creator was? (Bonus: And who was his actual creator?)

Lyta Alexander was KellyAnn. She has posted at a lot of boards.
