"mush" for Mikenite
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ignore the name... I came up with it when I was about 6.
"Mush" has 2 versions...both are super tasty, super easy and super quick.
Mom's mush..
1 lb. ground chuck
1/2 onion chopped
salt
pepper
Gravy master/ Kitchen broquet...or gravy browning equivilent
Beef bullion(sp?)
Over smashed taters...with corn on top.
Brown meat and onion in skillet, add about 1/2 cup water, salt ,pepper and about 3 cubes of beef bullion. Simmer about 15 minutes. Add gravy master...to color. Thicken the gravy if you like. Put it right on top of Mashed potatoes.
Its actually REALLY tastey and filling. Its also good with corn on the side...or right on top. Nevermind how it looks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
Daddy "mush"
1 lb ground chuck
1 lg can Durkee ff onions
salt
pepper
La seure peas 1 can
1 bag 10 min rice, cooked
Brown meat..add salt, pepper. Add entire can of Durkee onions. (Add a little water if its really dry) Add entire can of LeSeure peas (drained). Add entire bag of rice.
Mix it all up. Ok...so it will look REALLY nasty. But HONEST...it is really good. It takes about 10 minutes. It was my husband's favorite "bachelor meal"
These were just 2 "quicky" dinners for when we don't feel like REALLY cooking
Kelly.....I've eaten in the finest restaurants across America. I don't eat "mush". I'm single, but not ignorant. I used to prepare eggplant parmisian, but it took a week to eat. I've prepared a good tuna casserole, but again....it took a week, or more, to eat. I'm down to chicken wings, hamburgers, pizzas, small salad, sandwiches, subs, and breakfast pizzas. I'm thinking about a good soup, or whatever................
Its not as "mushy" as it sounds. Its just a quick, small, one pan meal.
So I guess instead I will just offer you a Raszberry
Yum Yum Kelly!!
With my wife and two girls all set on fast forward, this sounds like a great dish to feed us all and keep me from grousing too much. (I'm the cook 60% of the time).
Wifey says she likes it too, I don't have enough variety for her. boo hoo
