Statement (http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/nation/terror/20041103-0827-election-putin.html)
It looks like at least some of the rest of the world appreciates PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH. According to some of our village liberals, every person who doesn't live in the US and is a Republican hates him. Maybe this will change yor mind....
MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday welcomed a victory for George W. Bush in the U.S. presidential race, saying it meant Americans had not allowed themselves to be cowed by terrorists.
"If Bush wins, then I can only feel joy that the American people did not allow itself to be intimidated, and made the most sensible decision," Putin said at a Kremlin news conference after talks with Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi.
He was speaking before Democratic challenger John Kerry conceded victory to Bush in Tuesday's vote.
Ex-KGB agent Putin and former oilman Bush have forged a close relationship that Russian opposition to the U.S.-led war in Iraq has not derailed. They stress their partnership in the struggle against Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda movement. "I am convinced that international terrorism gave itself the goal of not allowing the re-election of Bush. The statement by bin Laden in the final stages of the pre-election campaign is the best confirmation of this," Putin said.

I think this election put a big exclamation point after that "we aren't afraid of terrorists." When so many other countries surrender to them, we stood tall, no thanks to the Libs and college brats of the country.
I'll be curious to see if the terrorists finally figure they can't beat us and find something else to do.....like start living like decent human beings.
BTW, it was Ronald Reagan who first said, "A message to terrorists everywhere. You can run but you can't hide."
I have a nice song made by Def Leppard after the Libya attacks. In it are clips of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher speaking. Anyone wants it, let me know.

So... is voting for any candidate other than the incumbent concession to terrorism?

So... is voting for any candidate other than the incumbent concession to terrorism?
In John Kerry's case, that certainly was true. It was also true about any of this year's candidates in the Democrat primaries and about anyone in the current leadesrship of the Democrat Party.

It also means we're not scared of Putin's view of us.

So... is voting for any candidate other than the incumbent concession to terrorism?I'll keep it simple for you, googoo....
Terrorists do not like President Bush.
Terrorists are afraid of President Bush.
Terrorist like Senator Kerry.
Terrorists are not afraid of Senator Kerry.
Putin knows this.
Putin likes that the U.S.A. has President Bush leading our country instead of Senator Kerry.
Putin knows that President Bush is bad for terrorists.
Putin knows that Senator Kerry is good for terrorists.
Putin is happy that the world is safer from terrorists because President Bush is leading our country.
If this doesn't make it clear to you, I'll see about adding some pictures next time.

If that other candidate is a Democrat, yes. Be honest, Golgo, do you think that trying to talk with terrorists would ever work? I think not. Life means nothing to them and peace doesn't exist.
Kerry (Democrats) cut defense and let foreign folk do what they want, no matter how bad it is while controlling the lives of Americans with bigger government.
Democrats have no spine and are afraid of war, even if it's necessary. IF they finally do go to war, it's fought with diplomacy more than anything so troops fight over the same piece of land over and over again. Lyndon Johnson was famous for this. The shame of it is that it seems we didn't learn from that conflict and 58,000 US Servicemen and women died to a war of diplomacy.

OK Now Putin needs to explain why the Russian trucks were taking "stuff" to Syria weeks before the war and he needs to nut up and redeem chechnya.

Vlad is no fool. He knows which side his bread is buttered on. My husband and I listened to future Senator Barak Obama (sp?) making his accepetance speech, and we both commented on the conciliatory tone towards the other side (Repubs). This was BEFORE the race was called for GWB. I think Obama KNEW who his CIC was gonna be and he better make nice.......

Shawnwood that's a separate issue from the topic at hand. Some guy took a international poll and the only two countries that wanted Bush reelected were Russia and Israel...the two countries who have suffered from terrorist attacks the most. Putin understands the war on terrorism even though he's aiding some of our enemies. He just handles the war differently than Bush does. I happen to believe Putin's way is the wrong way.

Someone needs to put together a "Dick and Jane" style primer on reality for liberals. Small words. Short sentences. LOTS of pictures with bright colors.

Bin Laden's tape had only one possible effect: to boost Bush votes. This was obvious to everyone, including republicans who saw it as a "gift".
Therefore I am quite sure which leader Bin Laden actually wants in power. He wants an endless conflict between west and middle east, his power and standing in the arab world thrives on it.
