I know there will be a number of inaugural balls/parties in the DC area on that special night. I've never been to one. I'm thinking of going to FreeRepublic's one, because it is about half the price of the others. Will anyone else be going?

And, what do unmarried men do at such things? I've heard that it's OK to go stag, but it still seems kind of weird.

I thought about going local, and I know they are going to be doing things in the lower part of south carolina, but that would still require an overnight trip, and if that's the case, I might as well go to DC.

I might be going to the inaguration. I know my niece will be there with her husband and they asked me to go. She is a Freeper but I don't think she plans to go to the ball because she has a infant. If I go I'll end up going stag also. I'll check into it and let you know. How much is the Freeper Ball??

Unmarried men cruise for young conservabaves. There ya go! And if things pan out, you'll raise more conservatives to preserve the future!

:moo: Mrs. Platinum has already emailed me from Jakarta to let me know that she expects a special celebration for W's victory. She'll be back before the Big Day, so I guess we'll be going to Catfish Cabin in Jasper. That's as close to an inaugural ball as I'll be getting. If anyone is planning to be in East Texas in January, let me know, & we can all go together. Did I mention that Catfish Cabin serves free roasted peanuts with every meal? They encourage their cliëntèle to throw the shells on the floor. Is that place fun, or what?

Amen to that. My 5 grandsons will carry on the conservative Sicilian traditions of their grandpa, or I'll come back to haunt them.

I was planning on going to DC, but the Catfish Cabin sounds like a whole lot more fun.

:moo: If you (or anyone else) is serious, let me know, & we can get together to toss around a few peanut shells in W's honor.
