According to the Catalogue of Philantrophy (http://www.catalogueforphilanthropy.org/cfp/db/generosity.php?year=2004), the
10 most generous states in terms of charity donations,
with the highest amount donated per person, all
went to Bush by a wide margin.
The 10 stingiest states, with the lowest amount of
charity work and donations per person, all went to
Kerry by a wide margin.
Liberals not only want to b^$ch about the problems
facing America, they don't want to lift a finger to
fix them. So much for helping the poor and needy huh?????

Liberals believe that the government is the solution to all problems, so there is no need for charity.

NT,
You are SO right, my friend! It is the liberals who TALK about charity, good works, and benevolence -- it is conservatives who actually ACT on it. To do something in the benefit of others requires self-sacrifice -- that is one "self" issue that liberals simply cannot stomach. They're more into "self-ishness", self-centeredness," "self-esteem," "self-righteousness," and "self-gratification."
True compassion requires no spotlight, as the focus should always be on the one who needs the help. Libs gotta have the spotlight, so how can they then shine a light on others (in an act of compassion).

How well did Arkansas fare? Or did Clinton forget to donate his underwear again?

Well said, Homeschool. It's occurred to me often that the things liberals talk about so much, I actually live in my private life -- helping folks who need it, giving to charity, working with youngsters on my own time, smoothing out problems in the neighborhood rather than seeing people take each other to court. While I'd like to think there are liberals who do these things, I've been a lot of places and have never yet met a single one.

Libs believe that a tax increase is another name for a charitable donation.
(This would be a good bumper sticker)

I'm not surprised at this.
I found a link. It is quite telling.
All of the "blue" states are in the bottom 25. All of the top 25 states are "red". That liberal bastion (Taxachuesetts) comes in at number 49. No wonder Boston is nicknamed "The City of the Cold Shoulder".

Oh, don't be so hard on Massholechusetts. Our liberals are so concerned about the less fortunate that they don't hesitate for an instant to give the shirt off of someone else's back.
