Just be careful when you do, large. I got behind a car with Kerry/Edwards, "No on Measure 36" (gay marriage amendment), and various treehugger bumperstickers. I started grinning and flashing the big "L" at them every time I saw them look in their rear-view. Then they turned into my neighbor hood, down my street and into my next-door neighbors driveway. It was their (his) mother, come to visit from Eugene and boy was she wigged out. She thought that I had followed her with nefarious purposes in mind and was ready to call the police.

One afternoon, after a long day of shoveling llama manure and planting daisies, our neighbors pulled out with Mom in the passengers seat. We started a little joking around about ripping up each others efforts and Mom took it seriously. She has viewed me with more than a little suspicion ever since. And for some reason, I just gotta keep up the appearance of being the neighborhood @$$. The issue with the big "L" was pure luck, she had a new car and I didn't have clue who she was. Now she's really nervous around me.

My wife has an aunt like that. She doesn't much like me.

Amazing enough, she told me that she wouldn't want me for a neighbor because I have "so many" guns.

When I asked her why, she said, "Well, I wouldn't want a child molester living next door either".

I asked her how she could possibly equate my ownership of firearms with child molestation, and she didn't have an answer. She did say that she "felt" that gun ownership should carry the same penalty as child molestation.

I just shook my head, slapped a mag into my .45 and went outside to my range.

Later I was told by Mrs Lobo's mom that every time I fired a round, she (the aunt) would flinch.

So now every time she plans a visit, I buy a couple extra boxes.
