An online correspondent of mine, a devout Christian, on why he did not vote...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not voting.
I live in Illinois.
As far as other thoughts goes...
I put no faith in mankind. Any cursory glance over human history will reveal something so obviously cyclical... good intentions ---> good ideas ----> good institutions with good intentions/ideas ---> then ultimately corruption or perversion.
You gotta understand man. This is not my reality any more. It ceased to be the moment I began to understand Christ's message. My job is not to "fix" the world's evils by way of democracy. It cannot happen. My job is to honor my God with every decision I make... to live and walk and talk with Him. How that affects my vote is as follows... there is not a decision that I could make regarding the candidates that I believe would honor God.
He's assured me that if they rejected and persecuted Him, they will mos def reject and persecute me. He's also assured me of a couple other things that, that after perceived adn believed, reveal what an illusion this whole thing is.
God loves each and every individual on this planet, individually. And we will all be INDIVIDUALLY responsible to Him upon His (Jesus') return.
A new president will not save us. peace.

A non-vote for one equals a vote for the other.

In the OT, what did the good Jewish Kings commonly do? They tore down the "high places", and commanded the people to return to their God and worship him with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind.
What about the NT? They preached the Gospel everywhere they were, ignoring whatever physical harm they could or did receive. The world is not our Home, our home is with God, however we are to be a light in the world while we are here, this can't be accomplished by remaining idol, but requires action.
What about abortion? Can one stand by and give up trying to save the babies by not voting? Or do you go out and vote, and do what you can?
How about gay marriage? Can you stand by and watch as judges impose it on the rest of America? Or can you go and vote to make a difference?
And the war on terror? Do you want to see our people well protected from the psycos? Or would you rather many die, while we still have much work to be done in the service of God?
These are questions this person should ask himself.

The child won't be responding. Evidently one of the admins grew weary of his prattling.

Apparently this Christian, and I've nothing to doubt he's not, is the product of what it must be like to not understand where our freedoms derive. IOW, he's embarrassingly spoiled, sitting in relatively comfortable, harrass-free environs thanks to the faith and work of American patriachs and soldiers while completely braindead to such sacrifices that also were the work of incredible Christian faith.
To make it short, I doubt this Christian would similarly fail to vote if he lived in a recently liberated Afghanistan and he was a female. He's not only taking his relative ease lightly and for granted, but he's using his ignorance as a convenient cloak for his ultra-high & mighty spiritual ascendency while telling us all how religiously evolved he is. Its sad.
What a maroon.

Maybe it's just an old saying, I am deffinately not a Biblical Schlor but I have heard it said that God helps those that help themselves.

Perhaps proving the point that some people really are too stupid to vote. So we should count this as a blessing, they apparently can't see a threat even after 9/11 and all the terrorist acts. If that doesn't open eyes they are hopelessly blind.

whatever. I once met a flaming liberal who never votes ... because she is not registered. She'd rather argue with her conservative husband about the way he votes.
Takes all kinds.

Dude wants us to believe he's too pure and Godly to engage in such tawdriness as voting and actually standing up for something. He's just lazy. A quitter. A rider-of-coattails, as Wyatt pointed out.
Also a bull s h i t artist.

 Didn't we have some "Christian" woman here a few months back, who tried to convince us to stop talking politix? She even insinuated that we were in league with the devil, when we declined to acquiësce to her shiznit.

That was natasha (http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/showthread.php?t=11902), a liberal troll wearing a Christian mask. She disappeared after the heat increased.

I reinstated organix's posting privileges. He hasn't violated any board policy and as long as he behaves I see no reason to ban him. We are after all able to defend our ideas and idiologies very well I believe.

I truly don't get that. I could never be married to or date a liberal. It's enough to argue other aspects of life...
And I don't get these "moral voters" who vote for Kerry when Bush has more or better morals and values.
