Stop brow-beating Rumsfeld already!! All he did was tell the truth with great respect for the questioner (who just happened to be a setup plant by activist imbedded media) and promise to ask Congress for the resources. The left is tossing a hissy-fit in the middle of the room just because it's full of cameras. Seems to me that that is superior to Rumsfeld or an officer in the crowd having the soldier quickly muzzled, this troublemaker, and then dragged off in chains to face discipline or worse. So cool off, will ya?
First of all let me share an analogy I have. Leftist activist media schleps are like little cockroaches protected from being squaushed by an act of Congress. If you listen quietly in the dark you can hear them scurrying about under cover, doing their damage, flocking in hoards to any "consumable find" made by any of their buddies and cohorts... which you then discover the remains of the next morning. But if you shine the light [of truth] on these disgusting bugs and expose them, they scurry for every nook, cranny and hole in the room to avoid being smashed or sprayed. This perhaps will set the context for this article. For the last several years we have been hearing dozens of stories of media figures making things up, plagerizing, altering video, rigging explosions for cameras, lying, defaming people and idiologically twisting to the left or omitting altogether any story which may be of benefit to Republicans, particularly conservative Republicans, in order to "do their comrade part in the great struggle" and influence how the nation and the world views America. Makes ya wanna step on a few of 'em, you know what I mean?
The famous remark which has you leftist activist sharks furious was Rumsfeld's "...you go to war with the military you have, not necessarily the military you wish you had." Okay, so let's look at that partial sentence for just a moment, shall we? First let us look at my claim that it was the truth. Our previous impeached Democratic Socialist president bragged for years about how he had cut the size of the government, even though spending went up each year, and staff went up each year, in every single federal agency EXCEPT intelligence and the military! Dispute that. Clinton CUT the military by 1/3 over eight years in terms of size, reduced the military budget from $327 Billion in 1993 to $274 Billion in 2001 (when G.W. Bush became president). The army was cut 28% in personnel, primarily higher ranking officers and non-commissioned officers for maximum budget effect from 14 ready divisions to just 10 divisions. The navy was cut from 393 warships to 313 warships and 32% of naval personnel were fired or retired early, again higher ranks for maximum effect. The Air Force's bomber strength was cut by 34% and lost 28% of it's active duty force along with them. The Marine divisions remained but were gutted by 70,000 personnel making the divisions smaller overall, this amounted to 11% of personnel. Most ships and planes cut were troop carriers and cargo ships which makes them 1/3 less capable of moving troops and materials (like armored Humvees) to international theaters 7,000 miles away. Secondly, I seem to recall that Senator John Kerry and Senator John Edwards along with a large number of prominent liberals (mostly Democratic Socialists) voted AGAINST spending the money to provide body armor and heavily armed Humvee's to Iraq in the infamous $87 Billion Iraq War requisition from President Bush. So, Rumsfeld's statement was true.
The way you hear this story reported and commented upon by agenda-driven activist media types is so specious and slanderous as to be comically ridiculous and pitiful. Worse, these scurrilous vermin in the media actually believe that most of America still believes them... which would explain why they have lost 50% of their viewing audience over the same period of time that population has increased by double. Face it, you brat-like little cockroaches! No one believes you and your bias anymore! There is a huge and RAPIDLY GROWING segment of America seeing the WHOLE story on FOX and listening to dasterdly, lying, racist, religious wacko, right wing nuts on the radio. If they can see that leftists like you lie, what makes you think they couldn't see such content in the alternative arena? You just don't get it. Tell the truth, don't omit news contrary to your friends' interests, remove ALL political inference and twist in your stories and reports... and you would have a responsible, American, WEALTHY media community resulting from attacting a VAST loyal audience to advertise to. Wake up, eh?
