HALIFAX - The Supreme Court of Canada is being asked to hear arguments on whether the word "kemosabe" is racist to native people.

Well, it's true. Didn't that guy in the song about Custer's last stand get an arrow shot at him when he shouted "Kemosabe"?:cool:

aw for cryin out loud, these guys got WAY too much time on their hands looking for ways to get 'offended' by terms used in movies.
I dont see these whiners goin after blacks in movies callin each other the 'N' word now do we?

Hey, I don't blame them. Ol' Roy got away with calling his sidekick a "fool" for years. Get it? Tonto? Joke works better if you know Spanish.

It was Clayton Moore (The Lone Ranger) who called Jay Silverheels "Tonto" because that was his Indian name. It also means "pendejo" in Spanish, or "fool". My favorite line is when the two went to Canada, and the Lone Ranger tells his friend, "On to Toronto pronto, Tonto!"
Just kidding. That's a joke from an old quiz show.
