Merry Christmas to the most wonderful group of people I've ever had the great fortune to meet and get to know. Knowing all of you has made every day Christmas for me. My wish is that each of you has a wonderful holiday and that our troops, wherever they are serving are safe, warm and loved and come home soon.

In snows here in Victoria about once every 15-20 years. The last time it snowed my wife and I had just married that summer. We celebrated 20 years last June.
And NOW! NOW! NOW! LOOK OUT THE WINDOW! IT'S SNOWING!
It started a few hours ago. WHat a sight! And it's STILL snowing! There's a blanket of snow everywhere!
ON CHRISTMAS EVE! I'm so excited I'm shaking! Of course, it's pretty cold out there.
It's snowing and it's Christmas Eve! I'll never laugh at Bing Crosby again when I hear him crooning I'mmmmm dreaminnnng of a Whiiite Christmas. Two miracles in one night.
There are two meteorological events that keep people talking for years here. One is hurricanes, the other is snow. We had our hurricane two years ago. I'll take snow any day. http://www.charlottechurch.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Merry Christmas...........from my family............to yours. 8)

boat I am soooooo jealous. We had snow all day Wednesday and you got it the day it mattered. I love "White Christmas". It is one of my favorite Christmas movies. I have it on DVD even. We watched it 2 nights ago. Tonight we're watching "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. It's a perfect movie to watch after he bashed Bush. It reminds us that Chevy Chase spent his entire career making himself look like a clueless bumbling airhead. He's perfect for that movie. He doesn't even have to act.

In Houston, and down here in Corpus Christi where I am at, it is snowing. When it first started I expected a pitiful little show, however there is a good blanket now. I walked out barefoot and in underwear, it was damn cold!
edit: So much for global warming by the way! Merry Christmas!

Loved the comment about global warming. It does sort of cool off their ardor for the theory, huh? ;)

I just wish that were true boat. When common sense scientists proved that global warming was nonsense the econazis would shut up during the winter months so out of desperation they came up with a new scam. (to keep the money flowing) Now all of a sudden......"Freezing temperatures are all part of global warming". According to 'THEM" the reason we are freezing our butts off in the winter is because of GLOBAL WARMING. Go figger...

Frost at Midnight - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
The Frost performs its secret ministry,
Unhelped by any wind. The owlet's cry
Came loud - and hark, again ! loud as before.
The inmates of my cottage, all at rest,
Have left me to that solitude, which suits
Abstruser musings

WL, no kidding. Places in the world that never got a cold winter are getting freezing temps. I also heard that new measurements show the ice in West Antarctica is thickening, and it was thought 'global warming' was melting it.
Woke up this morning to my first White Christmas! Went to friends' house last night and their families were there too. It was very awkward for me at first because they have known Dave's ex for 20 years so I thought I wouldn't be welcomed but they were very gracious and care about Dave's happiness so we got along just fine. We all chowed down, and had a great time. Played PIT until 2 AM. Anyone remember that game? :)

80 degrees, no snow, only a cool breeze now and then. But this being the first Christmas I've had off duty in three years it doesn't matter as much.
God Bless you all and have a great Christmas.

Does anyone feel like posting what they got for Christmas? I got a tennis bracelet, a hundred dollar bill and an IOU for a hot tub. The Warlord got a leather attache case, a dolphin figurine which is totally cool, a shirt and a 110/220 converter for when he travels overseas. The doggies each got a stocking filled with toys and chew things. They had a blast.
Sounds like a good Christmas, WL. Every year the kids give me Christmas decorations. This time a dancing Homer and Mr. Burns christmas dolls, a porcelain nativity scene, and a music box with a tree that lights and spins. After so many years of these gifts my house looks wonderful for the holiday. I love to decorate and they give me the decorations.

I am back home! It’s a pleasure to get away for a few days, especially when one is tied down to their business. I couldn’t wait to get away on Friday of last week to spend a fantastic weekend with CaliBoy’s sis and bro-in-law. I gave my bro-in-law a genealogy book I have been researching, documenting, and printing out for over 4 years. My heart sank when he realize what I had done. It’s all he talked about since Christmas day. Life is GREAT! :claps:

I got a grey wool cape/coat/jacket thing, (fake) fur hat, a suede & corduroy outfit and leopard-print slippers from my Mom, a Toby Keith Greatest Hits 2 CD from my son & daughter, a massaging bath pillow from my husband, $100 & an outfit from my Mother-in-Law, $50 from my Father-in-Law, a microwave from my Sister-in-Law & nephew --- oh yeah, and I got a cold :(
Cold's better, still sniffling, but at least I'm not coughing my head off anymore. Looking forward to a quiet week with my Bubba and kids ... no more outside family, we're doing New Year's alone just the four of us, no traveling.

Jag that sounds wonderful. I would love to see a picture of all of your decorations. Cali you're more resourseful than I am. HS I sure hope you get over that cold. I hate getting sick but getting sick over the holidays just sucks majorly.

We had a magnificent Christmas! I received Home Interiors scented candles, which by the way are the best on the market. They really stink up the house fantastic! A toaster oven, which I asked for, a Coke-Cola lunch pail [I collect Coke-Cola items], hand lotion and hand soap from Bed, Bath & Beyond…. really speculate scented items, and moola from my in-laws.
I also got a cold from CaliBoy! I medicated myself on Christmas night, and woke up feeling 100% better on the 26th.
