Didn't know where else to post this, so here goes.

I'm a skinny 40 yr old with five kids. Married twice. Currently seperated and headed with some guilty glee towards Divorceville.

I smoke (I quit every week). I drink (when I can, and usually when I shouldn't). I love Family Guy (the cartoon). I believe my kid's teachers should have the right to spank them. I think drugs, if legal, would create chaos. Abortion is bad. My mom tried to abort me, then found out it was illegal cuz I was fifteen. I have a condition called essential tremors, which wrecked my dreams of becoming a cartoonist (I can barely write my name now).

I like the color green. And I will NEVER eat or drink ANYTHING blue. Blue food = bad. Except for blueberries. Trust me.

I visit the bathroom more than most people, on a daily basis.

I like to impress my youngest son with my enourmous bodily gaseous explosions. But my youngest daughter shames us both with her noise.

I have been online since 1995.

I still owe Compuserve over 500 dollars for that first month.

My eyes are blue, and I can wiggle them.

I have more scars than freckles...

Okay, now I'm just babbling. Sorry. :duh:

Nice to meetcha!

Howdy Itchy!

I must say, that was one of the most interesting introductions I have ever seen here on FC. Welcome aboard!

I noticed the bit about cartooning --- did you want to draw or do animation? My lifelong dream has always been to work in animation. When I was a little girl I used to watch the Disney movies dreaming of the day I would read my own name in the credits, LOL.

Anyhoo, enjoy yourself, don't be easy to take offense, have fun, watch out for the trolls, and I hope you like a wild ride, sometimes FC is very similar to a roller-coaster... lots of ups and downs but always worth the ride!

Again, Welcome, and
Many Blessings,
Hms

Yes, I wanted a syndicated panel... the year before the essential tremors kicked in, I managed to bluff my way into an interview with a guy at the local newspaper (not here in MI, but in VA where I lived at the time). He said to bring seven day's worth of fresh material... and I choked  talk about pressure! lol... but I think I would have gone back for a second round eventually.

Later, I'll post a link to a few of the 'toons I have scanned. I just have to upload 'em...

Great stuff Itchy but tell me,
What food is blue other than blueberries?

Mostly artificial stuff (the artificial aspect doesn't bother me... the BLUE does)

Blue ice cream, blue Koolaid, blue Jello, etc.

Alfred Hitchcock once hosted a dinner at which all the food items were dyed blue. The guests (of which you'd know some names) could not finish eating. Sure, it was the dye, they say...

Check out the story here (http://www.researchpubs.com/books/prankexc8.shtml)

Right. Like Hitch, I associate blue food with rotting.
The crabs will be cooked thank you. :D

BINGO... association is all it is, but that association is powerful. Hitchcock knew this, I suspect :munch:

In regards to the blue foods: As unappetizing as they seem to us adults, anyone who has or had a young child throughout the ages of blue foods (and has had access to blue cereal, blue bubble-gum, or blue soda) knows that if you place a 3 yr old in front of a candy counter, they will choose something blue. In addition to the fact that children are intrigued by the aspect of eating something blue, you may notice that a great many of blue edibles leave your teeth and your tongue blue. This is quite an exciting thing for a child who's unsuspecting parent let them get that blue lollipop. As a young parent, I can remember the intrigue, the excitement, and just the unusuality of the blue snack, (and they really tasted good).
