WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - On the same day he was fired from his job, the suspect in the BTK serial killings got assurances he will continue to be a member the church where he is a leader.

(snip)
Earlier in the day, Rader was visited in jail by his pastor, the Rev. Michael Clark of Christ Lutheran Church in Wichita.

``We are not going to cut him off. I could tell that he was relieved,'' Clark told The Associated Press. ``He is still a part of the body of Christ - and that is something some people will have a hard time hearing.''

(snip)

For now, Rader remains president of Christ Lutheran Church Council, although he will eventually have to relinquish some church leadership positions, Clark said.

"He is still a part of the body of Christ"--I wonder what he means by that?

Okay that's just wrong, wrong, wrong. I can understand retaining his church membership, and I can understand the pastor wanting to work with him and help him come to terms with what he did and in seeking confession and repentance, but remaining a church leader . . . NO WAY! When one's testimony is ruined, their Christian life is altered as a direct consequence. He may, if he seeks Christ and REAL repentance and salvation, become a beacon for other prisoners, but he should NEVER have a church leadership position in the regular church.

Did he already confess to the crimes?

One could argue that a certain other man who shall remain nameless raped or at least sodomized women, then had far more people killed (possibly in order to divert attention from his sexual behavior), yet kept his job as President of the United States in the '90s. :flame:

There are a lot of people, both men and women, who are dead because of Clinton. Remember his "wag the dog" bombings of Iraq, Sudan, Serbia, and who knows where else--not to mention his general lack of attention to genuine international crises?

you were initally talking about his sexual escapades ( which i beleive were consensual). Not his national policy
