Just announced on FoxNews - The ruling on the Pledge has been stayed....by the same three judge panel.

Smart move. Judge Napalotano says he is certain the remaining 22 judges on the panel will overturn the ruling and that it won't even make it to the Supreme Court.

SAN FRANCISCO –– A day after he shocked the nation by declaring the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional, a federal appeals court judge put his ruling on hold Thursday.

Circuit Judge Alfred T. Goodwin, who wrote the 2-1 opinion that said the phrase "under God" violates the separation of church and state, stayed his ruling until other members of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decide whether to change course.

I still want that flaming liberal's head on a silver platter!! Better yet, I want it on a 20' pike an exhibited at ground zero of the WTC as a permenant reminder as to what liberal policy DOES to our culture.

I agree T-Wolf. I think I just heard he was due to retire and Leahy is holding up his replacement.

Did anyone hear Teddy The Drunk hem and haw when asked about this? He called it "a stretch." That's all it was to him. It was hilarious. images/icons/grin.gif

Warlady

I'm sure Teddy would love to agree with the ruling. That had to hurt.

Think he might have received a good old fashioned butt chewing by his fellow judges?? A few phone calls from CONgress probably helped him change his mind!

I just think that this was SUCH a stinker that even the dems had to force themselves to acknowledge it. And you're right, WL. I HAD to hurt. images/icons/wink.gif

Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if the most intelligent woman in the country sided with it. images/icons/grin.gif

I don't trust the bastards. They're just waiting for the public to cool off so that they can put it on the record. They are not to be trusted for even one second.

John, this time it hurts them in the voting booths. I think you can relax for once. images/icons/wink.gif

My guess is he heard senator Robert Byrd try to lead congress with the pledge this morning and figured, since one of the most senior members of congress doesn't even know the words to The Pledge, it ain't no big deal and isn't worth messing with.
Did anyone else see this senile Pin Head try to recite the Pledge?
What an embarrassment! images/icons/shocked.gif

I'm sure D'Asshole might have a hard time justifying a Borking, while holding out for the type of justice who would agree with nixing the Pledge.</font>

Could be but it's too late. That ruling gave GW a ton of ammo and mileage.

It's been a while since I visited the barnyard. The problem has been that there hasn't been too much controversial happening lately. What are they going to do--oppose efforts to track down and prosecute terrorists? This pledge controversy gives them something to argue about, though mainly with each other, it seems.

Rush said that the judge probably got a call from Daschle. They wanna sweep this under the carpet fast.

Republicans CAN NOT let this issue pass. The connection is glaring between the liberals in the Democrat Party, as anti- religion and that seek to appoint similar judges to the bench. As well as prevent more conservative judges from sitting on the bench.
