Clintonoid Stuck With $300,000 Legal Bill

Bad news for Bill and Hillary Clinton:
Former Clinton Labor Secretary Alexis Herman has to pay more than $300,000 in legal bills after being cleared in an independent counsel's investigation.

A special judges' panel ruled today in Washington that Herman failed to show that she would not have incurred the expenses anyway in a Justice Department investigation, as required for reimbursement under the Ethics in Government Act.

"Tuesday's ruling does not bode well" for the Clintons, United Press International reported. The former first couple have asked the same panel for reimbursement of their attorneys' fees for the Whitewater scandal.

The Clintons shouldn't be reimbursed. Their stonewalling and evidence tampering etc is why the investigation took so long. Also Ray didn't say they were innocent just that there wasn't enough to get a conviction. We better not have to pay for their legal bills. Talk about screwed up!

This certainly is a ray of hope.

Is memory serves me, Bill Clinton didn't like the fact that members of his administration had to pay legal bills, and vowed to 'work hard' after he left office to reimburse them for any expenses they incurred as a consequence of serving under him. (well, we won't count Monica - that was another kind of 'serving under') LOL
So, we have the Clinton duo asking the taxpayers to pick up their tab even though they might have made up to $30 million last year. Plus, let's not forget the Legal Defense Fund that they set up - and if they end up turning a profit from this, that might be a first, huh? images/icons/mad.gif
