I Took my youngest daughter to see the new action movie "Sahara" tonight. The movie is based on the book by Clive Cussler. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a solid 8 1/2. strong action sequences, Decent acting and the comic relief was outstanding. McConaugh (Spelling) does an outstanding job as Dirk Pitt and Steve Zahn is perfect as Al Giordino. William Macy did an ok job as Adm Sandecker, the woman was totally miscast. I wish they would have done a bit more work on making the bad guys into real "Bond Level" Villians but you cant have everything. Over all if you are looking for a good old style action adventure movie then I strongly recommend you see Sahara.

Thanks for the heads-up, Unk. James and I will go and see it next weekend. James is fond of Cussler novels. And though he's not my cup of tea, the film trailer looked good.

In place of a car chase, is there a camel chase? If so, I'm there.

Camels are so declasse. Give me a good ostrich chase anytime.
