Okay, I now propose we add a NEW forum strictly for ridiculous, unbelieveable, whacky, and unfathomable news coming out of the state of Flori-duh -- this is getting absurd.

Fla. Judge OKs Abortion for 13-Year-Old
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A judge has ruled that a 13-year-old girl at the center of an abortion fight with the state may terminate her pregnancy.

Juvenile Judge Ronald Alvarez on Monday ruled that the teen, who has been in state custody for four years, would not be physically or emotionally harmed by the procedure. Last week, Alvarez blocked the girl's abortion until a psychological evaluation was completed.

``He ruled that she is competent, that she has made a decision and that she has a right to act on that decision,'' said Howard Simon, executive director of the Florida American Civil Liberties Union, which represented the girl.

Who is the slut that got her pregnant?

I'm curious as to what really goes on behind "Defects" doors, especially if 13 year olds are getting pregnant.

There was a "Precious Doe" in state custody for many months before Defects even noticed and it turned out to be a state caretaker or official, I forget which.

HEY STUPID LIBERALS.....YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!

You can't tell me a 13 year old gilr is competent enough to make these kids of deciscions, then turn around and tell me that a 14 or 15 year old can't be tried as an adult for murder because they are not competent and do know fully understand what they are doing.

The problem with this case is that she is in the states care. I wonder if she was raped, or seduced by one of her social workers and now they need to abort to get rid of the evidence.

Oh it's not just florida, here's a good one for you....

SENATE BILL 5311 _______________________________________________ State of Washington 56th Legislature 1999 Regular Session By Senator Roach Read first time 01/19/1999. Referred to Committee on Judiciary. AN ACT Relating to body piercing; amending RCW 26.28.085; and prescribing penalties. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON: Sec. 1. RCW 26.28.085 and 1995 c 373 s 1 are each amended to read as follows: {+ (1) +} Every person who applies a tattoo to {+ or who engages in body piercing on +} any minor under the age of eighteen is guilty of a misdemeanor. It is not a defense to a violation of this section that the person applying the tattoo {+ or engaging in body piercing +} did not know the minor's age unless the person applying the tattoo {+ or engaging in body piercing +} establishes by a preponderance of the evidence that he or she made a reasonable, bona fide attempt to ascertain the true age of the minor by requiring production of a driver's license or other picture identification card or paper and did not rely solely on the oral allegations or apparent age of the minor. {+ (2) +} For the purposes of this section, {+ (a) +} "tattoo" includes any permanent marking or coloring of the skin with any pigment, ink, or dye, or any procedure that leaves a visible scar on the skin{+ ; and (b) "body piercing" means the creation of an opening in the body of a human being for the purpose of inserting jewelry or other decoration. This includes, but is not limited to, piercing of a lip, tongue, nose, or eyebrow. "Body piercing" does not include the piercing of an earlobe +}. {+ (3) +} Medical procedures performed by a licensed physician are exempted from this section. --- END ---

First off, if you're under the age of 18, even with a note from Mommy, you can't get a tattoo. Forget it you're out of luck, it's a law. If you are 18 and considering a tattoo, read carefully, because this is a BIG decision.

WHAT ABOUT PARENTS?

In Washington state, parent’s permission is NOT required for a minor to obtain abortion, pregnancy tests, birth control methods, or tests for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS. It is also not necessary to notify a parent before or after the procedure or test.

Suzie is right, it is not just Flori-DUH, it's the whole stinkin country. We are living in a time where the liberal's that run the school feel that they are smarter then us and should be the only voice in raising a child. Just like the man that was arrested for protesting the school teaching his child who is in kindergarden about homosexuality. This place is getting crazy!

Thus ends any chance of Govenor Jeb Bush taking the next big Political step. First the Terry Shaivo controversy now he calls off the CPS in regards to preventing this 13 year old child from getting an abortion. There is absolutely no way he can win the Republican Nomination for President.

This is just wrong!:flame: This girl can't make a proper decision about sex yet she's allowed to condemn the unborn to death. Both he and the ass that knocked her up should be charged with murder.

Just came from a Kaiser Clinic (a place to get casts put on and taken off) they have a sign there that states anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult and have parental permission to visit a doctor.

In other words anyone under the age of 18 cant see a doctor let alone have any medical procedures done WITHOUT parental permission, (and yes this is in the state of Washington)

And yet they feel the need to allow children under the age of 18 have an abortion???

Something is seriously wrong here, and I think its the abortion proponents who are hell-bent on keeping their blood-money business going at whatever cost, by hook or crook.

And if they can wheedle, shnook, lie, and deceive young children into having abortions, hey its all the better as its more money being poured into the coffers of abortuaries.

Has this guy ever had an abortion? How the hell does he know that an abortion will not emotionally harm her? Of course it probably won't physically harm her. I think we have a conflict of interest here. A man cannot rule on whether or not an abortion will emotionally harm a female. He has no personal experience to draw on. Not only that but he is totally ignoring all the evidence to the contrary. There are countless testimonies by women that an abortion does indeed harm them emotionally.

This is probably the perfect case to show just how stupid and crazy liberals have become. The girl is a ward of the state. The state stands in "loco parentis" which means her parents.

The state tried to prevent the abortion and find out who the father is so he could be prosecuted for sex with a minor. The Judge ruled that if a parent had no right to stop the abortion, the state acting in place of a parent didn't have the right either. The judge asked the girl who the father was and she refused to answer. The judge then ruled against himself! Saying that she had a right to privacy and he had no right to even ask who the father was.

It's insanity but what's the end result if we continue to allow this cancer to grow.

I think the rationale that is given for allowing teens to get an abortion is that they may have gotten pregnant as a result of incest; therefore, getting permission from a parent (possibly the one who impregnated the child) to have the baby killed might well be impossible or at least endanger the teen.

Then the rationale, is irrational.

This was OBVIOUSLY not the case here, as the girl was a ward of the state. Perhaps there is a cover-up taking place? Could it be that a representative of the "state" is the cause of this CHILD'S impregnation?

In any case, this is just wrong no matter how you look at it.

This is just another example of the FL courts (and many, many other courts) defying the will of the people expressed through their legislators. The bastards are completely out of control.
