I don't know about ya'll, but I think Narnia is going to a huge succes. My guess is that it won't be as great as LOTR, but it will be great nonetheless. I hear it's going to have very little blood, and absolutely no sex or cussing(which is REALLY GREAT). It'll sounds like it'll almost be for kids, but I think it'll be magical for the grownups too. It hasn't yet been rated, but my geuss is pg.
It opens December 9th. Here's the official website. http://comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=9239

I sure hope it's better than the 80's TV version!!!! I'm just a bit disappointed Michele Pfeiffer turned down the role of White Witch.
Anyhoo! The trailer can be viewed at http://www.narniaweb.com/

Teen you honestly support this but bash Harry Potter? They both deal with magic and have good messages on making good choices. How is this better than Harry Potter ( other than literary elements)?

PrezLee, Like LOR, this films writer was a follower of Christ and openly a Christian. Potter books deal in many things that are directly related to witch craft where as THIS upcoming film is directly related to the story teachings of the bible.
I expect churches to come out in droves for this film AND for it to make as much money as THE PASSION.

Oh, by the way. You should read some of the other books by C.S. Lewis.

I happen to love the book series by C.S. Lewis. But still I think there is a level of narrow mindedness going about here.

Prez, Lewis wrote other books beside the Narnia books. They have to do with non-believers and his faith in Christ.

I expected this question to come up.
Prez, as I stated in the other posted, HP deals with magick(google that word). It is also written by someone who doesn't claim to be a Christian, but claims to be a "spiritual" person.
Narnia, on the other hand, is written by one of the finest Christians of the century. There are no real spells in his books, and definately no magick. There is plenty of magic(this type of magic is not against God's word), but it shows the creativity of God's creation(man). Also, C of Narnia of many parallels with the bible(Aslan dies and arises=Jesus died and arised), etc.

Sometimes I have to wonder. I have read the read the works of his other books and Lewis did not consider all of the Bible the Word of God. He did not believe that faith in Jesus Christ was all that was necessary for salvation (from Screwtape Letters). He also wrote that Hell was a state of mind. I'm not trying to rip the man up, I'm just saying do we really know what's in an author's heart?
Me, I enjoy fantasy books, period. Doesn't matter whether it's Harry Potter, Narnia series, LOTR, Pern Dragons series, Wrinkle in Time, etc...

Teen, Harry Potter does not deal with magick. If you read the books you would know that. The authors faith is not an issue when it comes to the literary work.

The Chronicals of narnia is symbolism in myopinion... The Lion is Christ, and the witch is Satan. Btw i can't wait to see this movie, i read every book in the series and can't wait to see it on the big screen
