The photograph below shows a red Doberman licking an exhausted fireman.
He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire.
She is pregnant.
The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman before.
When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest.
A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed this red Doberman in the
distance looking at the fireman.
He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do.
As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph.

Lady H,
Thank you, thank you, oh thank you for posting that! THAT is the reason doberman pinschers are my FAVORITE breed of dog. Do NOT buy the lie that these beautiful, noble creatures are vicious, evil attackers. They may have been bred and raised that way in some cases, but the animals that I have had experience with have been some of the MOST loving, caring, and expressive animals I have ever had the pleasure of owning or being around.
Oh how I wish I still had pics of my babies -- my beloved Daisy, whom was lost to a medical condition caused by breeding, and Bandit: Lord of Thunder, whom I was forced to sell because of a divorce and who was my best friend when I was lonely and blue, and precious Molly, my foster-dobe, whom even though was severely abused by some awful person, gave unconditional love as I helped to rehabilitate her and was so saddened when she went to a wonderful loving new home.
I WILL own another dobe one day, mark my words.
Thanks again, Lady H!

I love this story and the photo. Thank you for posting this. Dogs and Cats are like people...some are bad, some are good, some are smart, some are dumb....you can't paint them all with the same brush according to breed/race.

I wanna ask this, some websites have said that animals don't go to heaven as they don't have souls (a website that was like rapture countdown or something)...
I didn't like that assumption very much... I have cats and a dog and to not have the ones that have departed in heaven would seem... unlikely.

I love the picture. So sweet. I think people underestimate animals and there intellect.
That is such a sweet picture.
Thanks for that.
Animals Do go to heaven, i know my 'children' are there waiting for me, Sal(cat), Toka(dog), trampus(dog), Misha(dog), smokey(cat), Abner(cat), momma kitty(cat), Binny (horse) and esp Mr BoJangles my beloved lil pooch of whom I still so sorely miss after having his gentle loving company for 14 years.
God bless these loving critters, without them I dunno what I'd do.

God made all creatures and I believe He loves them as much as He loves us. I don't believe there is any question that animals go to Heaven. Of course they do. Every animal I've owned sure had a soul. I saw a bumper sticker once that said "If dogs aren't allowed in Heaven then I don't want to go".
