I have been very lax in my duties to maintain the Hobbies, Games, and Crafts Forum, so in an endeavor to at LEAST post once a month, I am going to begin to post the Craft of the Month, and highlight a different Game and Hobbie of the Month. Please help me, by posting ideas, suggestions, or offerings of your own!

So without further ado:

May's Craft of the Month: The Patriotic Wreath

http://www.fabricandhomebonanza.com/how_to/images/patriotic_wreath_sm.jpg

This is a VERY easy project, and even kids will enjoy it. I actually made several, and we did them for Christmas as a project for our youth group at church. You can vary the fabric, use plaids, solids, stripes, prints, whatever! They turn out beautifully too.

Here is the link for more information:
Patriotic Projects / Arts and Crafts - Fabric punched wreath (http://www.fabricandhomebonanza.com/how_to/fabric_wreath.asp)

So, if you try it, please take a picture of YOUR wreath and post it here on the thread. I only have one wreath left, but it was made for our Dining Room (the theme is "Fruit of the Spirit" so the colors are garnet and blue). I'll get li'l Bubba to help me with the digital camera and I'll post a pic!

Happy Crafting,
I can't wait to see your projects!

Charity,

That's beautiful!! Thank you for sharing that! It is SOO fun and easy to do . . . I have made many of them just sitting in front of the telly. It is a GREAT craft project for children as well. I bought a "set" of phillips head screwdrivers (small) and that's what my students used as "punches". It worked brilliantly.

I would love to do another . . . I simply must make time! LOL

I used to make my guys sit in front of the tv and punch them for me and I got to do the easy decorating part. :-)
I would sell them for 20 bucks each. One summer we made several hundred dollars doing it. The one in the pic is the only one I have left. I sold all the real pretty ones. They are so much fun to make. :-)

Yes they are so much fun to make. They make an excellent project fundraiser for children/youth too. I believe it teaches a valuable lesson when the kids make them, sell them, and use the proceeds for a charitable work. What a great soul boost!

I never thought about making them for profit, though. We have a local Watermelon Festival (actually, it was just this past weekend prior) and I could have gottena booth and sold some! Thanks for the idea for next year!

Blessings,
Hms

Kids are always trying to find ways to make money. My son enjoyed this as much as I did. He saw how to make his own little business and he bought a new BB bat with the money he earned. :-)
