I found this in an interview with Cliff Hollingsworth (http://movies.about.com/od/cinderellaman/a/cinderch052606.htm), writer of the new film Cinderella Man, staring Russel Crow as boxer Jim Braddock, based on a true story:

Cliff Hollingsworth on Jim Braddock the Man: “He was really a guy that was too good to be true. I mean, he was religious, he was so honest that when he went on Welfare he paid it back later with interest. That’s absolutely true. Like I said, he was a character who was too good to be true - but he was.”

I found that absolutely remarkable, but maybe because, being born in 1986, I come from a time where they don't make 'em like that anymore. The amount was $364 -- not sure if that is including or without interest.

How inspiring. :moo:

I am not a real big fan of boxing movies, but I would be willing to pay $2.50 to watch Russell Crowe get beat up for two hours.

I'm interested in seeing the movie. I am familiar with Braddock only in that Joe Lois took his title. I would like to know more about the man, and the movie is supposedly a good one.
