The wife and I watched this movie on DVD the other night and loved it. Good story line.
It features Dennis Quaid as a NYC firefighter who with an old radio, contacts his son 30 years into the future. With his son's help, his life is saved in a fire that he originally died in, is saved from a cancerous death later on and together, solve a 30 year old murder mystery.

Good flick. It's worth the rent.

It is an awesome movie and one of our favorites. Time travel stories always fascinate me, how each author finds away to overcome the inherent paradoxes. I am not a huge Van Damme fan, but I thought "Timecop" was a very good time travel movie, of course the romantic relationship between husband and wife had appeal also for me. If you like time travel books, try Dean Koontz' book "Lightning". I LOVED it. It would make a tremendous movie in the right hands.

Frequency is a GREAT movie . . . I just don't recommend being sucked in to the TV version -- they cut WAY too much out of the movie, and by the time the commercials are inserted, it's so cut and pasted it hardly makes sense. I think this is one of my son's favorite movies, along with Air Force One and Big Trouble.

PH, I like Koontz's books -- my fav is Watchers. Was SOOOOOO disappointed in the movie version, AND the remade movie version. NEITHER were even CLOSE to the book -- and the book, as written, would make an excellent screenplay, in my opinion. The premise is very intriguing.

Our recommendation right now is Big Trouble . . . we laugh our HEADS off every time they start talking about Gators ('course, that's a local thing, considering we are just outside of Gatorville, YUCK!). The cast is simply brilliant:
Tim Allen .... Eliot Arnold
Rene Russo .... Anna Herk
Stanley Tucci .... Arthur Herk
Tom Sizemore .... Snake Dupree
Johnny Knoxville .... Eddie Leadbetter
Dennis Farina .... Henry Desalvo
Jack Kehler .... Leonard Ferroni
Janeane Garofalo .... Officer Monica Romero Miami PD
Patrick Warburton .... Officer Walter Kramitz Miami PD
Ben Foster .... Matt Arnold
Zooey Deschanel .... Jenny Herk
Heavy D .... FBI Agent Pat Greer (as Dwight 'Heavy D' Myers)
Omar Epps .... FBI Agent Alan Seitz
Jason Lee .... Puggy
Sofía Vergara .... Nina

The small dose of Janeane Garofalo is bearable to sit through because of the sheer hilarity of the movie. I give it 4 :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I agree "Watchers" is Koontz' best in my view, and yes they destroyed the story in those horrific movies. I leave my Scrabble board out from time to time...and the dogs don't do a dang thing with it! Darn!
