I don't actually hate any other teams, but being a Steelers fan for the last 40(-ish) years or so, I have several favorites.

The Steelers obviously. Whoever is playing Dallas. Whoever is playing the Patriots. Whoever is playing the Eagles.

I'm not much of a MLB fan since the last strike, and I never got into hockey much. I like knowing the Penguins won, and that the Pirates lost.

I live for August though.

Only 2 more months til pre-season.

Boxing is family viewing here too.

NHL: All

MLB: Yanks

NFL: (I'll have to think about it. Maybe the Packers, since their fans wear those stupid cheese hats.)

NBA: Sonics (If you were originally from the Northwest, you either hated the Blazers or the Sonics--and loved the other team, of course. :D )

College: U-Dub (Similar to the NBA: if you were from the Northwest, you either loved Washington and hated Oregon, or vice versa. I remember the time when Oregon State--not Oregon--was like a 40-point underdog playing the Huskies in Seattle but managed to win, 21-20.)

MLS: See NHL

I did live in Clinton (really) off of Rt 30 (?) on "Red Dog Road" for a year or so.

Living in Moon, you might actually know where that is at. When I was there, the place had a gas station a post office, and that was it.

We used to fish Raccoon State Park every trout opening day.

Woohooo! Old home week.

If you've been to Clinton at all, there used to be a dairy farm there named Purdey's (I think) that used to deliver our milk in the big cans.

Strange that so many readers would pick the Yankees. The Columbus Clippers are the Yankees' AAA farm team (International League).

Derek Jeter, Don Mattingly, Steve Balboni, Dave Righetti, J.T. Snow, Deion Sanders, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, etc. played for the Clippers at one time or another.

Know what I find amusing, Princess? Since the Yankees last won a World Series, George Steinbrenner has spent more money each year to win it. The Yankee payroll is over $200 million and they get farther away from it each year. There's a good chance they won't even make the playoffs this year. I'd love to see it.

Of course, Georgie Porgy will spend even MORE next year. He just doesn't get it. Money buys talent but NOT team unity.

There's a difference, Gordy. The Sox work better as a unit than does the Yankees. You don't see Sox players pushing away cameramen (Randy Johnson, even though I like him).
Also, lest we forget, Georgie was suspended from baseball for two years because of his practices awhile back. Since he came back, Bud Selig has been the commissioner. He is also a close personal friend of George and usually yields to George quite often when he wants something. How convenient!!

That’s an excuse. If George has that much power how come the Yankees get hammered anytime a player goes before the board? Pedro can hit 26 batters in a year and 13 of them are Yankees and he never gets suspended. Varitek keeps his mask on and starts a fight with ARod and they both get the same suspension. If it was a Yankee that started the fight he would have gotten the bigger punishment. But then again you don’t see the Yankees starting fights do you.

Oh, but the season ended in a three-way tie with the 'Aints, who lost TWICE to the 69ers. That was the edge in the three-way tie. They just always managed to gum up everything. How the 69ers must have mourned over losing their division stooges!

On the fight, if you remember right, Arroyo hit A-Rod with a bad pitch. Arroyo still is a league leader in hit batters. I guess A-Rod took exception to it since he's A-Rod even though Arroyo paid no mind to him and simply waited for the next batter while A-Rod stared him down and began to run his mouth. Varitek did his job and made sure A-Rod went to first base.
I read lips very well. Plain as day, A-Rod said about 3 times to Tek, "F*ck You!" I guess since that's how most New Yorkers act anyway, that's OK. Whatever!

Varitek threw the first punch the big coward. Got nothing extra for it. What a crock. Arroyo is an asshole, he is like Pedro but with a lot less talent. He meant to hit ARod and everyone knew it. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

As for Pedro, I heard no Sox fan say that when he played for your team.
I've said that about him for years. I felt the same way about Roger Clemens. Great pitchers but both were head hunters and both were headcases.

Varitek threw the first punch the big coward.
A-Rod ran his mouth. If I got in your face and said "f*ck you" about 4 times, I'm sure you would take a shot at me to. As I was taught, it doesn't necessarily take a first punch to start it.

He meant to hit ARod and everyone knew it.
I still doubt that. Arroyo even this year is amongst the tops in hit batters.
Intent is when Martinez hit Sheffield in the shoulder last year. (I think you remember that game.)

Arroyo is an asshole, he is like Pedro but with a lot less talent.
I doubt that. He does alot of charity concerts in his off time. Assholes can't think beyond themselves. I will agree though, he doesn't have near the talent level that Pedro had/has.

You have got to be kidding me that Watson suspends more Red Sox then Yankees
During that fight, Bob Watson suspended Gabe Kapler supposedly for pulling Tanyon Sturtze away from the ruckus and holding him. He never through a punch nor hurt him in any way. Fortunately, the appeals process worked and it was overturned.

And when two teams play each other 19 times a season, they're more apt to hit opposing players than a team you might only see 6 times. The Sox and Devil Rays plunk each other more than the Sox and Yankees.
