I felt like I needed everyone to be aware of why HTML does not always work in your posts.

When you start a new topic or reply to one, you'll notice just above the window in which you type your post, a small drop down list that says, "using UBBCode".

If you plan on using HTML, you will need to make the proper selection to do so. By default it is set to just UBBCode.

You need to make your selection before you submit your post.
You cannot change it afterwards via the edit button.

Thanks,
The Management

I guess you saw I was struggling with the letter size again???

Yeah...I tried a UBB code for letter size and it didn't work. Then I tried HTML and forgot to change the thingy.

But for the record...I still can't figure out the letter size. I wrote DF and asked him how he did it.

Yes. That's the popular place everyone is retiring too. Specifically Laughlin, NV or not too far away in Bullhead City.

AM-PM, and Circle K's are well known to law enforcement as "stop 'n rob". And it's just about that simple too.

And the owners are NOT "native", if you know what I mean.

Gone,

We used to have a mobile home in Bullhead City, AZ years ago. We used to take our boat out there to water ski. This was back in the early 1970s when it was a small place.

My bestest friend from H.S. (Upland H.S.) lives there now. She and her husband built a retirement home there. She keeps trying to get me come there.

I'm tempted.

Albertsons...is OK, I guess. But my husband has worked for Vons for 32 years. He's ready to retire. I shop and Vons mostly, because of loyalty...but actually, they haven't been loyal to us. Safeway is the real owner of Vons. They took over several years- hostile takeover- So Vons is really just front for a really nasty bunch of money grubbing CEO's.

Albertsons bought out Lucky's. It went the same direction as the Vons/Safeway fiasco.

nasty nasty stuff.

Gone,

If you like the heat, Bullhead, AZ is for you! LOL Before moving, spend time out there.

I remember being out there, and 7 months pg during the summer months. It reached 119 during the day. When we use to go there, the town rolled up their sidewalks when the shops closed. When I would go to the grocery, I found out don't be in a hurry, because everyone would stand and talk to you. In other words, a very nice, friendly town. But like I said, this was all back in the 1970s.

Von's is more expensive than Albertson's, unless you use coupons. I went to both Von's and Albertson's today, saving at both.

It sure isn't like that anymore! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon62.gif It's a very scarey place. I live down the river in Lake Havasu City. (we're hotter than Bullhead City, btw... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif )

I've never heard of a 'VONs' store.

In these parts we have Safeway; Fred Meyer; Wal Mart; Winco Foods store; and Albertsons.

I like Wal-Mart and Winco foods store both are cheap, but it pays to shop around. (gets the cheapest foodstuffs and other things.

One thing I enjoyed most about Winco foods, is they are a 24 hour store.

If you don't have a Vons, then shop Safeway or Albertsons. They're the least "rats" of the rat pack.

<h3>Wal-Mart; BLEH!!!</h3> /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon120.gif

Well dear its like this, to go to the nearest Wal-Mart store its a 33 mile drive east.

To the nearest Safeway its a 35 mile drive west, to the nearest alberson store its a 45 mile drive west, same mileage (45 miles) goes for Fred Meyer and Winco foods.

So in my lil one-horse town I have only ONE grocery store, and they take Western Family products and in my honest opinion they jack their prices up, plus you have to contend with the 8% tax on products because its in Washington state.

So I really cant win, this lil town is being slowly strangled to death for all the cronyism goin on here.

Only two 'restaurants' in this town, and owned by one person who has locked up the town and kept the fast food places completely out. No MacDonalds, no Dairy Queen nothin, no bowling alleys, no malls, no movie houses.

Ya have to drive the 33 miles east for the bowling alleys and 45 miles west for a movie.

So ya see I dont have much choice in the matter. (College is 45 miles west so I use that as an excuse to shop cheaper while I'm in there.)

Rink, as I posted to ALS, I haven't been out there since the 80s, but I did like it there. Then again, I lived in the Tri-Cities...I remember that Kennewick had the highest sales tax of anywhere in the nation at the time...sad to hear that they're still so liberal out there.
