Based upon what criteria?

Judy Garland was a very good actress -- not the best, but very good. Judy Garland had a beautiful voice in her younger years, but I don't feel her voice aged well (that's a personal opinion) -- still doesn't detract from her talent. I do not believe on an attractiveness scale she would be rated a 10, although her looks were intensely striking.

I believe to grant her overall status as "The Most Fabulous Woman Ever," is over-reaching by far and wide. Still, she is truly missed by many, and I for one am glad her work lives on.

I love her. I'm a big fan of her work when she was young. An amazing and rare talent.

My eyes always moisten up when I hear Somewhere Over the Rainbow. She is forever associated with that song and the moment when she tells Glinda that "if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard because, if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with."

I must be missing the Wizard of Oz gene. It appealed to me when I's 5. Since then I just can't get interested, but people of repute (I'm thinking of Camille Paglia) think it a work of art and Judy Garland an artist of first rank.
