I figured it might be convenient to have a link to an on-line Bible service so, here is the one I use a lot. Bible Gateway. (http://bible.gospelcom.net/)

You can get about any translation you want there.

Thanks TRC that is a good link.

Here is a link to a free electronic bible with the majority of versions except NIV and the others that have a copyright.

I've been using it for a long time. The search feature was quite useful in writing a paper on why marriage is an institution between one man and one woman for a Gender Studies class my last semester as an undergrad.

I got an "A" on the paper. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Of course, there are some here who will only read, either online or hard copy, the 1611 King James, but that's another issue for another thread.

Technically, if it's not in Arabic, it's not the Koran (Qur'an), just a translation. At least, that's what Muslims believe, so many of them try to learn Arabic. I believe it's a very difficult language, with few words having exact equivalents in English (or any other language).

11. But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand.

Try to paraphrase it (i.e., write it in your own words). Heck, try to write it with more standard punctuation and capitalization and yet not change the meaning.

Sura 11:

9. If We give man a taste of Mercy from Ourselves, and then withdraw it from him, behold! he is in despair and (falls into) blasphemy.

I use this (http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/index.html). It also has both testaments, the Koran, and the Book of Mormon.
