Saturday night at Cobo Arena in Detroit, 46-year-old ring legend Thomas "Hitman" Hearns, 60-5-1 (47), engaged in what was hopefully a passing of the torch and a triumphant goodbye to his beloved hometown fans.
Unfortunately, it may have been the beginning of a comeback that will surely end in the ugly sight of an all-time great suffering a brutal and unnecessary defeat.

I hate to see this. One of the all time greats.

Great fighter in his prime. No disrespect intended to him but he really needs to stay retired since people will forget his great career as they will remember his last defeat when it happens.

George Foreman got a lot of negative comments when he decided to get back in the ring, too.
If George Foreman can make a successful comeback, why can't Hearns?
It's fine with me as long as he doesn't end up punch drunk.
Congratulations, Tommy.:thumb:

I was going to bring up Georgey Pordgie. He could throw those blinding rights even at 50, but at least he had the GF Grill that he could fall back on.
Hearns needs a gimmick and an infomercial.

Hearns needs a gimmick and an infomercial.Did George have his grill before or after his comeback fight? He also has a line of clothing I think. I was wondering if his comeback fight is what gave him the new exposure to launch his other endeavors.
