DeLay: Round Up Illegal Immigrants House Majority Leader Tom DeLay urged Texas police Thursday night to begin rounding up illegal immigrants, and said he backed legislation that would cut off federal funds to cities that don't enforce U.S. immigration laws.
Speaking to a gathering of Fort Bend County, Texas Republicans, DeLay said that if police rounded up illegals, the federal government would find places to house them.

Nice thought but we all know, and they know,it will never happen.

If we hurt them breaking into our home, we either go to jail or get slapped with a lawsuit.

What is really necessary is to pass a few laws protecting residents from injuries to burglars. Like shooting one is entirely lawful and has tort immunity.

As for housing, DeLay said: "Put them in tents."
Yea, that'll hold 'em. Next the Dems will want money for food, porta-johns; then we'll go the extra mile and turn tents into public housing and don't forget the right to internet access.
Just get them home before they end up as "registered voters" in 2008.

Thanks to the Motor Voter Act, they are regsitered to vote. One of the murderers from 9/11 voted in Douglas County, CO for Al Gore.

Tents would be better than the housing may have left in Mexico. But that's not the issue here, the issue is getting the government to enforce the law rather than catering to the minority. Very few of the CONgresscritters want to step into this mine field, DeLay and Tancredo are just a few and DeLay just got on board. I firmly believe this will be the focus issue for `06 and `08 for many Americans. We are tired of seeing our tax dollars being spend for free medical care for the illegals when our citizens are not affored the same right. Reduce or free education for illegals and their children while our children and the parents have to scrape and borrow. Our Veterans medical funding cut to reinburse hospitals for medical care for illegals. :hissyfit:
Our governments priorities are totally reversed; screwed up. If the American voter keeps re-electing these do nothing supporters of the invasion, we deserve everything that happens to this country. :flame:

What I mean Tac by saying "get them home" is get them out of the country the same day they attempted coming in, no need for tents, etc. As you say, the government needs to enforce the law; if it were enforcing the law the illegal numbers wouldn't be what they are. It is only that there is little to no will to do it.

Which is why I am so concerned when I here people who would vote for a Republican, knowing that they will turn a blind eye to this problem, only because they are considering the "Democrat alternative." I have said to many to vote their concious (sp) and that's the logic I often get in reply.
I WILL vote Constitutionalist in 2008 if the problem isn't addressed and the next GOP candidate opts to follow W's lead on the immigration issue. That will be voting my concious!

How about Mexico? They already have a home there!

If the Chinese could build a wall to keep the barbarian hordes out of China, then there is no reason we can't build one here to defend against invaders into our country...say, 60 feet tall, 30 feet thick, and 1500 miles long.
The Mexicans will scream, "It's an insult!!!"
I would then hang signs on the side of the wall facing Mehico that say, "Goey homo. El piggy banko es clozo. Tu muy famoso el failure dirtbago culturo. Gringos mucho superiosa. El dealo witho ito, muchacho."

Beo, you go ahead and vote your conscience. The rest of us -- well, SOME of the rest of us -- will vote common sense.

Beo, I applaud your integrity. The "common sensers" would have us all believe that a slow boat to hell is somehow superior to a fast one.
On many issues, the Republican Party has simply become the lesser of two evils.

Shux, Fester, guess it hasn't occurred to you that on a slow boat, you still have a chance to turn it around. On the boat you seem to favor, it's win or lose right now.
It isn't a question of integrity. Neither Beo nor you has more integrity than I or anyone else on the board. It's a question of how you see it.

the whole illegal immigration thing makes me look down at my mexican heritage .
luckly my grand parents came here the Legit way with green cards etc . i just fricken hate it why some choose to come here Illegally . my great grandfather came here back in the 1920's or earlier and worked in texas and california , he came here legally of course and when my grandpa decided he wanted to leave mexico my great grandpa made sure my grandpa came here Legally with green cards/visas .
from what i know of the mexican comunity the Illegals think that they are just coming here to work for a while so they can send back money to their family in mexico or so they can go back to mexico with USA dollars because mexico is nextdoor to the USA , but most end up changing their mind and they instead stay here Illegally as Barbarian Invaders much like the Huns/Germans that invaded the Roman Empire . America must protect its borders if we dont want to end up like the Roman Empire . Immigrants from other places dont come Illegally as much as people from mexico .
I am not going to simply vote republican based on the illegal persons point. I will vote repulican because they are not insane and don't believe in killing innocents or negotiating with terrorists. That has NOTHING to do with the illegal crapjoint we have going on now. I (and maybe I am wrong) don't believe that liberals or republicans want these people in this country. The government is allowing it and has been for some time. Waaaaaay before Bush was in the WH. In fact, the liberals were the ones supporting it until Bush became a second term candidate and hadn't done anything about it. They expected a republican to jump on the illegals issue and he didn't. So NOW they condemn him? Liberals are the first ones from day one to say that everyone deserves a chance in this country, legal or not (they don't seem concerned with law or Constitution).
I know we don't want this taking a toll on this country or being an issue even, but Bush didn't start this. Perhaps he is putting up with it too much but he is the brunt of the wrath from liberals and even conservatives. Liberals have no ground to stand on with this issue, but we conservatives do.

I will. If peeps want to vote for more invasion that's fine.
And don't bust me on common sense as it has served me well as long as I've lived. It's just how I see things. Who knows, maybe W and other GOP peeps will come around by 2008 and come to their senses.
