Oh that's easy. The Eagles! I only own most of there material and keep at least one CD in the car of theirs at all times. I love most types of music but the Eagles are my personal favorite.

I believe we have about three Eagles CDs. Can't say how many original cassettes and LPs we have from them.

They were one of the main bands that I listened to as a child growing up in Arizona during the 1970s.

Those "twangy" Fender guitars accompanied by the "jangly" acoustic guitars...lyrics that paint a picture in your mind as wide and vibrant as a desert sunset...that distinctive five-part harmony, all helped provide the perfect soundtract for life in the southwest.

I like Tom Petty, too. But I like the Eagles more.

I like both, I just like easy going music. I don't like getting to worked up over any one thing.

u guys probally think i dont know much about that kinda music since i'm 19 , but i'll say tom petty is better . a better option would have been aerosmith , ACDC , KISS , Led zeppelin etc .

Gonna get myself in big trouble around Gatorville, but I much prefer the Eagles to Petty, although some of his stuff wasn't so bad. Tom Petty was born and raised a stone's throw from my tiny town, in Gainesville, Florida, so he is pretty B-I-G around here. Personally, I thought his voice sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Both are great, but I think I'd have to go with the Eagles just because I know more of their tunes and will sing along with them all (which may lead others to choose Petty) LOL

Listened to both a whole bunch in college, but I prefer the Eagles, as they are classic and have different sounding albums. Tom Petty never sounds different (sorta like Rod Stewart) and eventually some change is needed!
