Taken in the early 1990s with The Doctor in the TARDIS. OK, since somebody always asks -- "Doctor Who" was the longest running sci-fi TV series in history (BBC). TARDIS stands for Time and Relative Dimension(s) in Space and referred to the time-space machine The Doctor ran around in. The guy sitting down (Jon Pertwee) was the 3rd actor to play The Doctor out of 10 so far. He's the last remaining of his species (actually his planet and species still existed when Pertwee was The Doctor), and they have more than one life. So, actors were replaced by killing off the old doctor and that would transform him into the new one. Ah yah, I like sci-fi. I happened to be working in London when there was a Doctor Who convention, so I went over and got my picture taken. Everybody thought I was in Doctor Who costume but to me, it was just a lazy Sunday afternoon. I had actually been sick (from British food). Anyways - I think this is the most entertaining photo I have of myself.

Always happy to run into other fans. I wasn't actually able to attend the conference. I only read about it on signs posted around or something, about the time the conference was held. Tickets had probably been sold out a year in advance. I bought a ticket at the door and was able to go into an area where they sold lots of Doctor Who and other sci-fi / fantasy paraphernalia; and had a large exhibit of props. I spent a couple of hours there and actually quite enjoyed seeing the props I'd seen in various episodes while waiting my turn to go into the TARDIS for the picture. Yes - it was bigger on the inside. I walked into the phone booth ..... Had a nice little chat with Jon Pertwee. He asked who my favorite Doctor and episode was ... how embarrassing. (Tom Baker) ... I just told him I really liked "The Five Doctors" ....

Anyways ... he noticed how I was dressed (really, that was just hangin' around cloths) ... and said I have "a presence" ... so, maybe, I said; I might be the next Doctor. (He responded: "Maybe")

Your pic is 1225 pixels wide by 1825 high.

For a 1024 x 768 screen resolution, the width should be < 650 pixels to avoid a horizontal scrollbar. Thus I halved the dimensions for the HTML, and it fits nicely without distortion.

The scroll bar will be there with 800 x 600, but that's uncommon these days.

IE theoretically resizes images to fit the screen width, but I seldom use it and thus have no experience with it.
