My Mom wanted pictures taken of the generations of women in my family so she had "glamor shots" done. I had to crop this from the picture of the three of us. This is the only picture I can find that will scan right, so you gotta PROMISE not to laugh (the only other pic I have is my senior picture from school and that was taken when they had to use the covered wagon as the backdrop for the flash photography, LOL).

This picture is pretty old. I have been meaning to get a new one of myself online for a while now, but it just hasn't happened. I'm 18 in the picture, and I am 21 now. I don't really look any different, except I usually have sideburns now, and I am not always clean-shaven. I usually go a week between shavings.

Actually, I uploaded the pictures backwards to what I posted . . . she is Punkin', and he is Pookie, LOL. BOTH of them are hams when it comes to pictures. These were their (home)school pictures that I put in their CD Yearbook. I was the leader of a homeschool group, so I put together a yearbook for all the families with school pics, class pics, sports pics, field trips, etc. Those are a couple of years old, but the only new pics I have are at a distance; my son's on the soccer field and my daughter's on a horse in a horse show.

I need to take some new pictures badly, LOL. They are growing up way too quickly.

My son is 16 now, and 11th grade. We are working on all of his arrangements for next year (graduation). One of the things we are praying about is "the Prom." There are homeschool proms held in our state, we just don't know if we are going to participate yet or not. I may just take him out for a formal dinner (we have a fancy restaurant here that's on top of a ritzy hotel), and maybe a theater production or something. I did find out he'll be able to participate in Grad Night at Disney, and I'm working on saving the dough for my 1/2 of his class ring (the least expensive I've found so far is $324!).

I'm just not ready for my baby to be all grown up!

Oh well then I don't feel so bad then, mine is only a year older and a Senior. Those formals get VERY VERY expensive. Class rings are INSANE! I did spring for the 2nd formal's photos. Just had his senior portrait sitting ...time is just flying by.

1. Fetch IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/) if you don't have it already. It's the best freeware image viewer/processor on the Internet, bar none. Get the plugins while you're there. They greatly enhance its flexibility.

2. Once it's installed, open your photo using it.

3. Use Image > Resize/Resample to reduce its dimensions to 600 or less width (or 800 if you use FC's Attachments feature). This will give the folks with 800x600 screen resolution just a short horizontal scroll bar, and no scroll bar on any higher-res monitor. Height is unimportant. There are a lot of resizing options available.

You can use the Undo button (the counterclockwise arrow) to go back one operation if you want to try a different change. Granted, one Undo is very limited compared to Photoshop, Paintshop, et al, but then Irfanview costs $0.00, somewhat less than the "big boys".

4. Once you have the photo resized to your satisfaction, click File > Save As or hit the 'S' key. It opens the Save dialog box. At the bottom of the box is the Save as type: dropdown menu. Select JPG - JPEG files.

4. You'll see a checkbox for Show options dialog. Check it. This opens the options window. At the top is a slider labeled Save quality. Reducing the quality reduces the saved file size. 60%-70% retains quite good quality while shrinking the file to a manageable size for transmission on a dialup connection.

5. Save it using a different file name, to avoid potentially deleting your original, which is bad show. It should then upload in a reasonably short time.

My Mom wanted pictures taken of the generations of women in my family so she had "glamor shots" done. I had to crop this from the picture of the three of us. My dad was a ski instructor in Vermont and NH when he was working his way through college in the early 50's. He told me about Suicide Six, which I understand is in Vermont. Not sure I'll make skiing this year as hubby and I are taking our first cruise this fall.

Suicide Six is near Woodstock. It's but a foothill and is more for the local skiing academy.
Never skiied Mad River. It's all natural with no snow making so it's not open alot but when it is, it is said to be a true advanced skier's mountain as it is all gladed trails with big moguls, lots of rocks and trees. DO use your old pair of rock skiis if you go there. BTW, none of the mountain's trails are groomed.

Now for me. I'm 42 and I work as a mechanic for golf course maintenance at a Marriott resort that has 2 golf courses on it. I started working there in April 1990. I'm a bit under 5'11" and have brown hair that's becoming gray, more and more all the time.
I have 2 nieces here in NJ, and 2 nephews in VA. I live in a basement under my grandmother's house, which is attached to my parents' house. Grandmom is 101 and has a better memory than most people 40 or 50 years younger. It's easy to have intelligent conversations with her. She's the best. If Grandpop were alive he'd be 110. His birthday was September 1. He emigrated to America from Italy, via Ellis Island, in 1911, worked in New York City till 1922 when he and his first wife bought a chicken farm down here in South Jersey (about 45 minutes north of here).
I'm one of those people who prefer jeans, flannel shirts, and t-shirts over any other type of clothing; and bare feet or flip-flops over shoes. I love the outdoors, but don't hunt or fish, and I have no interest in any sports: watching or playing.
I love small towns and villages, old churches and historic sites, and old cemeteries, especially rural ones. I'm also an amateur photographer.

O.k., here I am -- I am pretty much a dead ringer for John McEnroe. The guys at the Post Office kid me all the time. Never been asked for an autograph though (probably because he's like 20+ years older than I am (I'm 33).

I started turning gray in my late teens... I've been thinking of coloring my hair, but my wife swears she doesn't care, so I figure why bother.
