Anyone familiar with Eric and his financial help?

From what I gather he's sort of a third-tier consultant, i.e. the following.

1st tier==investing in stocks yourself
2nd tier==investing in a MF where a manager picks stocks for you
3rd tier==following a financial consultant who picks MF's for you

His record seems to be good: His growth portfolio begun in 7/94 with $100K now is worth $224K+.

Wish I could help, dgauw. I don't follow any advice from others, and couldn't recommend anyone that offers their services. Many of these gurus seem to be shysters, but there are exceptions to everything.

If it works for you, let us know. At the least, build a fake portfolio and watch it over the course of a few months to see how you do.

If you care to share some of his recommended stocks, I'll be glad to research their fundamentals to see if I'd want to invest in them or not.

Thanks Ted--

Eric doesn't recommend stocks but mutual funds. In his current growth portfolio he has these MF's and the % of the portfolio:

Fidelity Cap & Inc (FAGIX) 12%
Marsico Focus (MFOCX) 18%
Baron Sm Cap (BSCFX) 16%
Fidelity Blue Chip Growth (FBGRX) 18%
Oarmark Select (OAKLX) 19% --this fund is now closed
William Blair Int'l Growth (WBIGX) 15%

Do you basically invest with stocks or MFs?

It looks like a well balanced portfolio of domestic stocks, bonds, and foreign stocks. The bond fund has an overexposure to EcoStar and Loral, but probably not enough to get excited about.

I only use MFs in my IRAs. I like picking individual stocks for my regular account.
