I saw that my last musical post struck up some fun debate of the non-personal variety,so I've decided to start up another poll about music. I'm starting this one because the Stones are on tour and Mick Jagger won't play in my town because the last time he was here he was harrassed, I can't blame him. But Paul McCartney came around october. I'd have to go with the Rolling Stones my self.
The Stones sounded more like Rock to me. The Beatles had some great songs, but none of it really sounded like rock, which is my preference.

Can't stand the Rolling Stones. From the early '70's on (when I first became musically aware), Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the band gave me the crawls. A few bands always gave off a vibe of pure Evil to me -- the Stones always topped that list. To this day, that feeling hasn't changed. I know that my feelings are probably silly, but long before I had a choate faith, there were things from which I instinctively recoiled. The Stones were and are one.
As for the Beatles, I am something of a MacCa fan. Always liked Paul, his songs and his voice. I recognize Lennon's creativity, but never liked him. Funny thing, the McCartney songs that Lennon most disparaged as "Granny Songs" are the ones I like most. After the Beatles, McCartney has shown great range with some of his Wings and solo songs, and some of his ballads are exceptional ("Mull of Kintyre" from Wings's London Town album comes to mind).

Oh no, jagger doesn't make me puke. I just like the Beatles better. More talent, better voices, better more exciting history. Yeah Beatles kick ass.
What PrezLeefun said.
I grew up with the Beatles and love their music. Our friends just had a "Beatle-maniac" party and we danced ourselves silly.

The Stones are the top band from that era for my money, and I don't thik their opinions make their music anyworse. Just because Toby Keith is a conservative, that does not excuse him from making shitty music. The same goes for The Stones, just because they are liberal does not mean that they are bad musicians.

How people can not like the stones I will never understand....

I like the Beatles better than the Rolling Stones. I have a lot of the Beatles albums. I don't have any Stones albums. Mick Jagger looks like something that crawled under a rock and died.

I grew up with the Beatles from the first time they were on the Ed Sullivan show, so I've always enjoyed their music. I liked some Stones songs from the late 60s/early 70s and saw them live in the 70s; they looked and sounded like they'd partied too much before the concert. Hands down the worst concert I ever went to.

Beatles! Was never a big Stones fan. I like some of their songs but don't own any of their music and wouldn't enjoy one of their concerts either. CP enjoy your concert to each his own.

Actaully, I've never listened to either one of them. So, I choose neither.

I'm going with the Stones. Great music and they are proof that the dead still live.

Hmm...that's an easy one. We don't own any Beatles albums, so I'd have to say that (in the past) we preferred the Rolling Stones. Between my wife and I, we have two R.S. albums. "Some Girls" (with Lucy and Marilyn Monroe on the cover), and "Undercover Of The Night". I bought that one on a whim because I sorta liked one song, but I got sick of it after the second time I listened to it. Didn’t care for the rest of the album at all. That was in 1983.
We really don’t care for any of the stuff they’ve done after “Some Girls.” I actually prefer a lot of the old singles. Paint It Black, Monkey Man, Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Under My Thumb, etc.
And if I hear “Start Me Up” one more time before the kickoff, I’m gonna throw the remote through the TV screen. LOL:bdh:
