Thanks everyone. Birthdays actually aren't important to me. Everyone has birthdays. I don't feel proud that I survived another full orbit of the Earth about the Sun. What I feel proud about is what happened yesterday. I went through the most physically exhausting day of my life and earned a black belt in karate, a goal that was six years in the making. Now, the morning after, I feel as though I have been jostled about by a gang of angry lumberjacks. I threw up soon after I consumed nothing but green tea. I am physically and mentally shipwrecked. I have a ringing in my ears.

I am continually naseous. And I thought I would at least feel somewhat good the day after I get my black belt.

I do not consider myself belonging on the side of Democratic Underground. I despise them. I am a liberal, but not that sort of liberal.Just saw this and congrats on the black belt! I do hope you get to feeling better. I know nothing of what would make you so sick in connection with getting a black belt, but I am happy for you and hoping you recover soon! And also Happy Birthday!!The sickness comes from the extreme physical exertion. I had to demonstrate everything I ever learned in the dojo--basic drills, forms, form interpretations, self-defense routines, weapon combat simulation, and sparring almost continually for two and a half hours. This was preceded by practice in preparation for the exam. And I was reprimanded twice by my sensei for not performing as if I had full energy. It was the most physically exhausting thing I ever did in my life. It is the evening after, and I am feeling a bit better. I had a nap and I stopped puking. I might feel good enough to go bar-hopping with my roommate tonight in Portland.

Well he admitted that he assumed that all posters on a message board were male. But he is going out to the bars looking for chics! So, by that messed up equation (which I am making up), he should be able to find a lot of chics at the bar because all people posting on a message board are male. Therefore eliminating the competition ! :)
