View Full Version : A few good songs...

Ok, so my school installed this nice new PA system, and me (being the up-beat loudmouth that I am) got the job of reading the announcements in the morning. I have a blast with it. The other day, when I was announcing the times of games for the upcoming weekends, I was playing Queen's "We Will Rock You" and everyone thought that was great. They have been asking me what I am going to play next time...
I need good ideas for songs, anything that you think will fit the criteria will work. I need something that gets you fired up and ready to rumble, and will give peeps the right idea about us winning the games. Any ideas?

Autograph's "Turn Up the Radio" is great loud over any stereo.
I also blast alot of Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild"
ZZ Top's "La Grange" or "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide"
AC/DC's "TNT," "You Shook Me All Night Long," "For Those About to Rock," Or damn near any other tune of theirs.
Alan Parson's Project's "Mammagamma" is a good instrumental for talking over.
Cracker's "Get Off This" or "Low"
Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song," "Kashmir," "Whole Lotta Love," " D'Yer Mak'er," or "Heartbreaker."
Just a few ideas if you think the (mostly) classic-rock theme is the way to go.

Those will work, keep the ideas rolling. DL'ing them is a pain in the arse, my old 56k takes about 40 mins to download a two minute song.
I will definintly need lotsa songs though, as I have about 170 days to go :) Any other ideas from current rock or so?

How about songs that are a cross between "Born to be Wild" and "TNT"... songs sorta like form the Space Jam movie.

:moo: "California Dreamin'" by the Beach Boys. A huge improvement over the Mamas & Papas version.
I always liked "Magic Carpet Ride" as a random song. We had a class song always. Our class song was "Welcome to the Jungle" and the class before us had "Bad to the Bone."
Throw some Bob Marley in there for the last of the summer days :)

Interesting opinion. I've never heard that before, that the Beach Boys version of that song is better than the original. I like both versions and I don't think it's possible to improve on the original.

:moo: You don't think a soprano saxophone is an improvement over an off-key flute? The Beach Boys had better guitar work, too.
