"We were pulling drowning people out of the water..."
-- Sean "I'm Just So Wonderful" Penn, Oscar-winning (which speaks volumes about the worth of the Oscars) Hollywood nobody
We hear tell, Sean, that you great rescuers came close to needing to be pulled out of the water yourselves. Did you remember the drain plug, Sean? Or did you bring buckets so that you wouldn't need red plastic cups to bail out the boat?
And how many drowning people — who were still drowning several days later — were you able to fit in the boat with you, your photog and your PR entourage?
What a lying asshole!
With his stubble and big ugly nose, I cant stand to even LOOK at Sean Penn let alone listen to the dork.
What a waste.
He needs to go back to his dump in Hollyweird.

I thought I would die laughing today. For the first time in 6 months I decided to watch Oprah. Yeah yeah I know. But anyway, she was having a special on Katrina so I thought what the hell. I'll tune in. She showed footage of Sean Penn driving around in his rented little aluminum boat trying to get a photo op and then all of a sudden it sprung a leak and he was bailing it out with one of those plastic red cups. Anyway, to the meat of the story. Sean was whining and pissing and moaning and going balistic against Bush about not rescuing people fast enought then they cut to the next footage which were a group of firefighters who had driven many miles to help with the rescue effort. They had an air boat and another boat none of which sprung a leak. They rode up and down the flooded streets for hours and everywhere they found people who were stranded they had to beg, BEG them to come with them and out of all, ALL of the folks they were trying to rescue which I would estimate to be at least 50-75 none of them wanted to leave save one little old lady who actually wasn't really all that little. So the truth be told that naggin' Nagin and all the race baiters are trying to start a race war against a Republican government. It's so pathetic. You need to read the article I just posted "Politics before Duty". It's an amazing article and I plan to send it to everyone. I have a feeling O'Reilly has already read it. Sounds like he's reading from it.
But weren't they all too sick and poor to leave? It had nothing to do with wanting to stay, they were just stuck, remember???
I know plenty of people down in that area and Mississippi who outright refused to leave, given the opportunity from family and friends. Heck, they have "hurricane parties" where they all get together at the local casino type place and gamble and drink all night and toast the hurricane.
Granted, this one was more than they had ever seen. But yeah, there are TVs in these joints and these people knew to get out. And, from your other article, apparently the local government did not feel the need to force evacuation.
Does anyone else know all of this? No one seems to know so far that it is NOT the President's fault.

Do you mean that you have tried to take him seriously? ;) Seriously though I am with you. He will always be that surfer dude Spicoli. Honestly I don't think the Spicoli role was too much of a stretch for him.
Penn and Clinton are two of a kind. They are both searching for a better legacy than what they have. Would you want to only be rememberd for playing a stoner surfer dude?
I wish he would have stayed in Iran.

Wait, and, you must understand that I am being serious here as I read this on another forum & posted it elsewhere here, he didn't spring a leak for rescuing 40 people? That is seriously what some New York paper (NOT the Times, I think) said.

EFFORTS by Hollywood actor Sean Penn to aid New Orleans victims stranded by Hurricane Katrina foundered badly overnight, when the boat he was piloting to launch a rescue attempt sprang a leak.
Penn had planned to rescue children waylaid by Katrina's flood waters, but apparently forgot to plug a hole in the bottom of the vessel, which began taking water within seconds of its launch.
The actor, known for his political activism, was seen wearing what appeared to be a white flak jacket and frantically bailing water out of the sinking vessel with a red plastic cup.
[snip]
With the boat loaded with members of Penn's entourage, including a personal photographer, one bystander taunted the actor: "How are you going to get any people in that thing?"Sean Penn's rescue bid sinks (http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,16494464%5E1702,00.html)

One simply must have one's personal photographer along to document how heroic one is. Doing "good deads" requires publicity. How else would anyone know how thoughtful, kind, and decent Sean is, unless he made certain to have press coverage and photos of the event?

Yep...exactly...let's all remember that this man was "intelligent" enough to marry Madonna and then get mad that peolpe wanted to take pictures of her because she was famous. I'm sorry, but anyone who has anything to do with Madonna needs a psychological examination. In Sean's case they found an empty space...
