Great News! the NFL has opted to have one Mr. Kanye West as an opening act for this weekends opening NFL games. Don't know about you but I emailed the NFL as soon as I heard this. In addition to this America hating, President insulting, rapper of the moment, they are also including the Rolling Stones which happen to have a new Anti-Bush song.
Can someone tell me why the Rolling Stones are still even touring, I mean have you seen the way they look lately, not to mention the way they sound. Maybe someone should que them in that they are not that great anymore.
Anyway, if your are as insulted as I at the NFL for their so-called entertainment line-up you can email them at www.nfl.com (http://www.nfl.com) scroll down to the link that says "about us" in here you will find another line to NFL.com help section (it is here you can email your piece to them). THanks and let a friend know. I can barely turn on the TV anymore as it is, now I don't want to have my Sunday Football ruined.

Geez, Kanye West AND The Rolling Stones. The NFL must "hate America."

No doubt the losers appeal to you, but this is football, not a farking political rally or an MTV special. And WTF does rap have to do with the sport? Rap is about hatred, sex, violence and murder. And West is about racism.
Myers: The landscape of the city has changed dramatically, tragically and perhaps irreversibly. There is now over 25 feet of water where there was once city streets and thriving neighborhoods.
(Myers throws to West, who looked extremely nervous in his super-preppy designer rugby shirt and white pants, which is not like the arrogant West and which, in retrospect, should have been a tip-off.)
West: I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family, it says, "They're looting." You see a white family, it says, "They're looking for food." And, you know, it's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black. And even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right now to see what is the biggest amount I can give, and just to imagine if I was down there, and those are my people down there. So anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help -- with the way America is set up to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off, as slow as possible. I mean, the Red Cross is doing everything they can. We already realize a lot of people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way -- and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us!
(West throws back to Myers, who is looking like a guy who stopped on the tarmac to tie his shoe and got hit in the back with the 8:30 to La Guardia.)
Myers: And subtle, but in many ways even more profoundly devastating, is the lasting damage to the survivors' will to rebuild and remain in the area. The destruction of the spirit of the people of southern Louisiana and Mississippi may end up being the most tragic loss of all.
(And, because Myers is apparently as dumb as his Alfalfa hair, he throws it back to West.)
West: George Bush doesn't care about black people!
(Back to Myers, now looking like the 8:30 to La Guardia turned around and caught him square between the eyes.)Kanye West's Torrent of Criticism, Live on NBC (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/03/AR2005090300165.html)
For the NFL to give the son of a bitch the time of day, let alone a spot in the opening-day festivities, is an insult to NFL fans.
As for the Stones, it's Night of the Living Dead Revisited.

The youngest one is 58, for piss' sake. They evidently don't know when to say, "That's a wrap!"
What the hell is going on at NFL HQ?

I don't watch football for half-time entertainment and the like. I watch it to watch a bunch of grown men try to kill each other for 60 minutes. I just shut the TV off if I don't like the entertainment. After a few minutes, I turn it back on.

I heard West is pretty good. He isn't the typical the rapper. He never grew up in the streets, which is odd for a rapper. Also, both of his parents have degrees, which again is odd for a rapper. And yet again, he mixes a little religion in his songs(I hear), another oddity for rappers. That's all I know about him. I've never heard about his political beliefs. But, now I know! :)

:smirky: We shouldn't be surprised that Paul Tagliabutt would allow this shiznit. This is the same slime who STOLE $30,000 from Sam Wyche for refusing to allow women into men's locker rooms, & took the Super Bowl away from Tempe, because Arizona didn't recognize MLK Day as a state holiday, despite the fact that the NFL didn't give their own head office workers the day off. He has an agenda, & he shouldn't be using the NFL to promote it. When is that ass going to go away?

I heard that and was glad he was. Was this the same guy that did the abortion song.

I'm not surprised the folks at Gillette Stadium booed Kanye West loudly. What he did just over a week ago angered a lot of people and forced both NBC Universal and the Red Cross to issue mea culpa statements distancing themselves from West. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

When I heard West's words replayed on the news, I imagined the sound of at least 60,000,000 checkbooks slamming shut.
I'm glad he got booed. That's the least that he should get for being so stupid.

I'm going to see the Rolling Stones here AT UVA next month and I cannot wait. Some people amaze me, the Stones are practically one of the best Rock and Roll bands in history and people are bitching about them on the Super Bowel, it's a hell of a lot better than Brittney Spears.

They love what they do, they're good at it, so why should they quit? The Stones are a legacy.

I agree with you, Czech, but as with so many entertainers and actors nowadays, they need to perform and keep their mouth shut about politics. They bring bad judgement upon themselves.
