Around the time of 9/11, some businessmen apparently put up a $1 billion hit contract (well, that's what it is in my book) on bin Laden.

If what they did is a hit contract, what exactly cvan they be charged with?

Conspiracy to commit murder. Racketeering. Probably money laundering and some tax and reporting charges. I don't know if there is a specific statute against this. I'mnot a criminal lawyer.
