If McCain is the candidate, I will vote for someone outside of the two established parties -- same for Rudy (I don't think I voted in the other poll, so I thought I would throw this in). Neither of these two are even slightly better than Hitlary (whom I think will get the Dem Nom), IMHO, so to vote for either of the three is just TOO much to expect from me as a Christian conservative republican.

I wouldn't vote for John Mcbain, i would however vote against Hitlary, She is far more dangerous then Mcbain could ever dream of being...

Depends on who else is running but if it's a McCain-Hillary contest, then it is indeed NO contest.
I like McCain as a person (in fact I don't think admire is too strong a word), as a candidate I have some issues with him, but not like I do Hillary.

I will oppose him in the primaries, but will campaign for him if he wins the nomination, or I might just vote Libertarian, but having Hillary scares me.
I hope Rudy gets it though....

Its early to start counting chickens... MCCain will most certainly run for the nomination... And as they did last time, we can expect the media to try to paint him has the "popular choice of the people" over any Conservative candidate... But I dont think McCaine will show even as good a showing as he did against Bush... The Republican Party is still totally dependant on the Conservative Vote, and no Conservative will support him for the Nomination...
If in the extremely far flung possibility that he actually took the nomination, I couldnt bring myself to support that thug... Yes he served his country as a Navy Pilot and yes he was a POW in Vietnam and suffered the most horrendous torture... But this does not cover his Liberal Politics - He is NO Conservative and I would argue he is no real Republican...
Would I support him if it was a close race between him and Hilary? That would be a tough choice because Hilary is most definitely a hardcore Marxist... She is the American Winney Mandella... That is a decision I'll have to make at the time...
But I have also gone on record here that I dont expect the Dems to choose Hilary as their candidate... She is a Red Herring at this point - a bone the Dems have tossed for us to chase - This dog aint chasin... I believe the Dem nomination will be one of the older more established party members - I think Biden has a strong chance at being their candidate this time...
But here is an interesting matchup that could be a real tricky desicion for me... It is, admittedly, rare that there would be actually SOME Democrat that I have some degree of respect for... One of those men is Joe Lieberman (despite his earlier ticket association with Al Gore)... Once Gore is removed from the picture, Lieberman is seen as truly an honest and reasonable man... Although I certainly disagree with his stance on many (most, actually) issues, he is one of the rare Democrats that I would describe as a statesman and a Gentleman...
In a matchup between Lieberman vs McCain, I would be hard-pressed to not support Lieberman over McCain (regardless of party affiliations) for the simple reason that at the very least both men are equally liberal, and in some rare instances, Lieberman is more conservative than McCain... And additionally, as I have stated earlier, Lieberman is, IMO, an honest man - he is not the Thug that I consider McCain to be...
In short, IMO, McCain would be a very dangerous manin the Whitehouse... From his behavior in Bush's forst campaign he showed me that he was perfectly capable of conducting himself as some kind of Dictator...

if the GOP wants the christian voters who came out to vote in 2004 to save the president then they wont nominate a Liberal Guilianni or a Socialist Mccaine .

lieberman is pro-gay and pro-gun control and pro-illegal alien and pro-abortion so i dont see how he is more conservative then mccaine , maybe its because lieberman doesnt behave like a child like mccaine . zell miller(D) on the otherhand is way more conservative then mccaine or lieberman .

Just where in the hell did this fiction come from???? He was an "honored guest" due to his father's position! He was offered repatriation by the Viet-Cong, and must be given credit for turning it down. How much he was indoctrinated just might explain some of his actions!

I don't always agree with his reasoning or choices, but I do respect him as a politician and a man. If he made it past the primaries there would be a good chance that I would vote for him. However, how likely is it that he will be running?

I will NOT vote for McCain under any circumstances.
Agreed !
and don't anyone lecture me about the destruction of the Repub Party ...it is the REPUBLICAN PARTY's job to nominate someone I can vote for in good conscience ... if the Repubs self-destruct , it is their own doings ....

I absolutely refuse to vote for him for many reasons, the least of which he has done awful things that affected my family directly. The main one being that he's a RINO!

Teenager, you're fighting the wrong battle! Is it more important to ridicule McCain than to work with the party of your choice? C'mon, dude...

Why does everyone think McCain is running for President? Even if he does run, he won't get the GOP nomination because he's too liberal.

Remember the how he betrayed the Republican party with the nominations? Yeah, he was the leader of the ugly 14. Anyways, he's is no conservative, he's a RINO.
