Okay, I have been asked to participate in a church talent show. I got an idea from something my Mom did with HER church group -- A Wild & Wacky Fashion Show, but I can't get a hold of her for help, so I'm turning to my FAVORITE people -- Freecers.

Here's the deal: The "fashions" consist of wacky outfits put together like . . .

Bermuda shorts and a T-shirt = a pair of shorts made out of maps of Bermuda, and a shirt covered in tea-bags. Get it?

I KNOW some other group HAS to have done this before, and I despartely need ideas for ensembles to put together. I have a volunteer group of about 10 youth willing to "model" the clothes (LOL), but I have to have a list of outfits for them to work on getting made before next Friday evening (September 23rd).

SO, does anybody have any ideas for some kookie outfits, or do you know of a place online I can find some ideas for this? I have done several web searches for "wacky fashion show" and "kookie fashion show" and then under the heading of kids and children, but have found nothing.

Here's the clothing items I have ideas for as of this point (besides the two I've already listed):

tennis shoes - shoes with old tennis rackets tied to the bottoms
smoking jacket - a jacket throroughly doused in baby powder, when you hit it, it smokes
brushed denim skirt - jeans skirt with brushes sewn all over it.
pumps - ball pumps attached to shoes
loafers - slices of bread on shoes
bowler hat - hat with a bowling pin glued to the top
tank top - shirt with water tanks from squirt guns all over it
pillbox hat - hat with pill containers glued to it

I need ideas people!!! I need at LEAST 10 to 20 outfits, so I'll take whatever ideas you can throw my way!

Thanks Bunches,
Blessings,
Hms

Bell bottoms and a tube top! glue little bells on the bottoms of jeans and glue the tubes from paper towel roles or toilet paper rolls on a shirt. I hope that helps!

Prez, those are FANTASTIC ideas, girl!! Thank you so much --- keep 'em coming.

Think I'll alter the bell bottoms and instead of putting them on the bottom of the legs, I'll put them on the rear-end of the pants, http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/biglaugh.gif.

Thank you sweetie! I'm going to try to take pics and post 'em here too!

Do you remember

Poodle skirts (Skirts made up of pictures of Poodles)
Teddies (Pajama's with Teddy Bears tied to them) (STOP THINKING DIRTY)
Clod Hoppers (Sandles with Mud Clods and Springs on them)

Awesome Unk! Thank you SOOO much! I remember the clod hoppers, those should be easy enough to make, I'd think. Don't know how I'll do the clam diggers (or the teddy, LOL) though . . . gotta give those some thought, LOL.

More please!

Alright, this may be intended for an older audience, but tweak it any way you like.

Coat of arms: nice suit coat with a lot of fake arms attached to it.
One Night Stand: Person with a tray around his neck (kinda like a hotdog vendors tray) that has maybe kleenex, water glass, and have a lamp shade as his hat.

If I remember more, ill toss em in.

Teddies (Pajama's with Teddy Bears tied to them)

:moo: My first thought was a night gown adorned with pictures of Senator Slimebucket.

I dunno what else you might wear based on that theme, but if I were you, I'd steer clear of dickies. ;)

We did this as a skit for a Father-Daughter dinner. There were outfits for different occasions and I remember one girl was dressed for "tea" with tea bags sewn all over her dress...much like your tee-shirt idea, Hms. Another one I remember was a "fur" coat which was a jacket with fir boughs attached.

Hope your event is (was) fun!

Ya' just gotta' have HOT PANTS!

Fasten matches/matchbooks onto jeans. Have the model walk, then pause at the turn and strike a match on the matchbook. I remember this one from Missionettes girls club when I was about 12yo.

You might want to have an extinguisher nearby for safety reasons.

Well you won't believe it! After all this hard work, they cancelled my "skit" in the talent show because they had too many acts sign up and there wouldn't be enough time! I'm so bummed -- had 10 girls show up and agree to do this thing, and we had all the outfits worked out and EVERYTHING!

Oh well, that's life. If anybody is looking for an idea to do in the future, just let me know -- I have everything organized and all the outfits planned, and I'll be happy to share.

Thanks for ALL y'all's help (anyway)!
Blessings,
Hms

Homes, even though it got cancelled, I am sure if you managed to get some pictures us Freecers would love to see your talent show here!
